While enjoying the celebration of our 'ole School, we also enjoyed the hospitality and the service of the Holiday Inn Evansville Airport Hotel.
From the check-in to check-out we felt we were treated as if we were at a 4 Star hotel: helpful, and friendly staff,recently finely refurbished rooms, the ballroom and dinner were grand, especially the chocolate cheesecake.
(We have continued to celebrate Winslow High School in Winslow, IN after the consolidation of Pike Central Middle-High School in Petersburg, IN).

Stayed October 2011, traveled

While the front deck was friendly and rooms and the interior were beautiful (if you looked over main floor restrooms being unavailable and construction still going on), the employees are NOT trustworthy. I left a necklace in my room and it was taken. Upon calling repeatedly about it, I never received a call back and had to make more attempts at getting an answer. In less than 24 hours what was an overall good experience turned into total dismay.

Some of the downfalls which were previously identified (old beds, run down, etc) appear to be corrected, as my room is very modern and clean with a nice bed. This is a typical of the recently renovated Holiday Inn hotels.

It is, however, very loud. As I type this review I can hear a group of ladies in the hallway chatting, a man in the room next to me talking on the phone, someone in the room on the other side using the toilet, and the lobby music blasting outside of my balcony. I'm being bombarded with noise from all sides! These walls are paper thin.

The lobby and pool looked lovely (didn't have time to try the pool). I liked how all the rooms overlooked the pool -- very resort-like feel. Luckily it was a weeknight and no one was making noise late or else it could be a problem. The staff seemed friendly. However, the beds were terrible. Very old mattresses. When you sat on either bed in our room, you could immediately tell the springs were older than we were. We've traveled around the country this summer and sadly, these were the worst beds we've encountered. If management replaces the bedding the place could jump way up in the ratings. Oh, they also need to fix the back door as it was gaping open and we wondered about it regarding security.
