I booked the room through AAA South and specifically asked for a no smoking room. We were unable to obtain a non smoking room and had to suffer two nights smelling someone elses used smoke. Ugh.

Ice machine on our floor (4th) not working. They did get it fixed but should have known it was broken. The bulb in the lamp between beds was burnt out..

The cord on the provided hair dryer was frayed and potentially dangerous.

Over all, we felt like the entire experience was expensive and not very pleasant.

Reserved two rooms for an overnight stay prior to a visit to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana in early August. I travel frequently for work and I am very picky when it comes to paying for a hotel room for my family to stay in (especially my grandkids). Upon arrival, I asked if my two rooms could be near one another and I was told that they would be adjoining, which worked great for our group so the grandkids could go freely between the two rooms during our stay. Hotel offers a great location with restaurants and shopping nearby, friendly staff, extremely clean rooms, nice breakfast bar, and an indoor pool which my grandkids thoroughly enjoyed. Only wish we could have stayed longer, but up and out early the next morning in route to Holiday World. Only negative was that the whirlpool was not open during our stay. I will make the Holiday Inn Express Evansville West my preferred hotel for future trips to the Evansville area. Also, received a Thank You card from the hotel upon our return home thanking us for staying with them. Very nice touch.

Everyone was so nice and the rooms were so clean....we travel alot and this is by far the best hotel ever

I was in town for business and my entire family was with me. I had researched the property online before coming, but I have now learned that you can not totally depend on online research for all the information you need. I hope this review saves someone time and money. I have so many complaints that I will narrow them down to the three most important and maybe mention some of the other issues briefly.

First the rooms are ridiculously tiny. To add to the claustrophobic size of the room is the fact that the floor and walls are not sound proof. I do not know if I have ever been anywhere and had to listen to what all the people around me were doing. I especially loved being woke up to my neighbor exclaiming, "oh crap!" For my kids sake, I am glad that is all they said.I also enjoyed the person on top of me stomping on my head all night and morning. Second, the hallway smelled foul, the entire stay. It was not just musty or mildew, it was a very deep down type of old stench that evades description. Third, was a customer service issue when I asked before I arrived if I could have late check out, I was told that I could only have one hour. I find out from corporate that I should have been automatically offer to stay until 2pm because I am a loyalty member.

Other issues include no iron in my room, the pubic hair in the bathroom, the spider webs, the difficult to navigate television, and the sporadic air conditioner. I spoke to others in my group who were staying at the facility and their experience was not far different from mine.Save your time and money, there are other hotels in Evansville, even if you have to drive a few extra minutes.
