For some reason I can't imagine, hotels in Evansville are very expensive. The Best Western Gateway is a real bargain (we got the AAA rate) - great room, great staff and great price. We had a room with 2 queens - nice, comfortable beds. The room had been recently renovated and the beds had down comforters and lots of pillows - not the old ugly bedspreads some motels still have. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. There was an indoor pool that we didn't use but the families who were using it seemed to be having a great time. The property is about 8 miles north of the airport on highway 41 - but that 10 minute drive was well worth the savings as a room of the same quality closer to town was going to run us $30 more a night. We'll be going back to visit a sick relative and we'll stay there again.

The pool area was filthy, there was food all over the place. the toilet did not looked like they had been cleaned and over and the floors turned white socks black. I would not recommend this hotel as aclena place to stay.

From the time my husband and I walked in we were quite impressed. We were greeted with a friendly smile and immediately offered warm cookies by the desk clerk as we waited to be checked-in. She recommended a new place down the road for supper and it was a great recommendation. The room was very spacious and clean. The stay included breakfast. Breakfast was average, but did offer many choices. We are very happy with our choice to stay here.

Convenient off freeway, recently renovated rooms, acceptable breakfast.
