Convenient off freeway, recently renovated rooms, acceptable breakfast.

Got 2 rooms here via Hotwire. For the rate we paid, thought it was a decent deal. It has easy access to highways 41 and 64 and is a little less than an hour away from Holiday World, which is why we were visiting after spending the day at the park. Staff is very kind and personable. They seem to be in the process of updating/improving the property. It was nice to have a pool for the kids and free breakfast along with a room with microwave/refrigerator.

In retrospect, I would recommend requesting a room not on their 4th floor as it was a little toasty up there. The AC in the hallway apparently did not work and the ones in the rooms are turned off while empty. The rooms smelled of cigarettes a bit as well. We had to change one of our 2 rooms due to a faulty AC and the smell. I fear I didn't sleep terribly well due to the loudness of the AC in our room shutting on and off.

The lady working the breakfast area is kind and does offer to fetch what you wish. However, I recommend getting to the breakfast early as they ran out of sausage gravy midway through the morning. Not many tables available for eating either.

Kids enjoyed the swimming pool. It's not very large, but was more than enough for our family when we were there by ourselves. Did have to fetch our own towels as they were out in the morning. In spite of being a heated pool it seemed a little cool in temperature, but not bad. Would have liked a hot tub option, but can live without.

Overall, not a great place to stay, but acceptable with its amenities if you get a good rate.

I stayed here with my son recently. We had a King suite. The room was clearly remodeled recently, and other than the toilet it was done very nicely. A new toilet would go a long way in making the rooms wonderful.

Al at the front desk was just wonderful. He is very personable and made us feel very welcome.

The breakfast was just ok. I think it could be improved by adding some things like fresh fruit.

For the cost of the room, I was happy with what I got.

After researching hotels in the area and reading reviews of this hotel, I felt this stay would be worth the money. However when we arrived, the room was a king room instead of a double - for 3 people. That was easily remedied and we went to our room where we found beds with linens in complete disarray as if someone just threw the sheets and coverlet up on the bed. The room also smelled very stale. We called and got a new room. This one was a bit better but then we discovered no tv remote. Went back to the front desk for a remote and back to the room, didn't work, back to the desk again! Finally settled and then discover the bathroom quite small - almost too tight to get around the toilet area. When we asked earlier why there wasn't a chair and ottoman in thisroom like there was in the first room we had, we were told it was because that room was a suite so it appears I received a downgrade when we had to change rooms - maybe that accounts for the tight bathroom. So we are staying in the hotel tonight because it is late and we are tired of the problems but I don't believe we will stay at a Best Western again - especially this one. The one good thing was the manager tried to be as helpful as he could.
