Good afternoon! I would like to take a few brief moments to tell you about my stay at the Corydon, IN Hampton Inn this past weekend. I visited from Friday, February 26th, 2010, until Sunday, February 28th, 2010, and stayed in room 220.
I travel fairly frequently, and I have stayed in various hotels, many of them being 4 or 5 star hotels. I can tell you with confidence that my stay at the Hampton Inn in Corydon is the BEST hotel experience I have ever had.
I arrived on Friday, 2/26/2010, and was greeted by a friendly staff member behind the desk, who checked me in and gave me the already prepared envelope with my keys. I was impressed from the start with the friendly manner of the staff member, the efficiency of the check in process, and the lovely and immaculate lobby. When I got to my room, I was impressed even more by the nice decor and the cleanliness. In booking my stay, I had not expected more than an average room, considering the great price I received on Expedia and the star rating that was listed for the hotel (Expedia currently lists it as a 2.5). I was very pleasantly surprised at the sophisticated decor, both in the room and the bathroom. And the room wasn't just clean--it was completely spotless, especially the bathroom. I was then blown away to find a hand-written note addressed to me on the bedside table, written by one of the staff members, welcoming me to the hotel and letting me know who to contact if I should need anything. I have never seen such a nice touch before in a hotel, regardless of rating or price.
During my stay, the room was very comfortable and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast included a wide range of choices, and a friendly staff member was available in the dining area to keep things stocked and assist with any needs. The amenities provided were very much appreciated--the complimentary internet access was especially nice to have. When I checked out on Sunday morning, the staff member was very friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed another wonderful breakfast before my departure.
I had no idea that my choice of hotel would add so much to my weekend trip. I am always very observant when I stay in a hotel--I notice the good, and I notice the bad. This experience was so fantastic, I will certainly never stay in a different hotel anytime I am staying in that area (which I travel to often), and I will certainly be more apt to stay at a Hampton Inn at other locations when looking for a place to stay during my frequent travels.
