My husband and I stay here every year when we go to Derby Dinner Playhouse for their Christmas play. The hotel is beautiful and old in a good way...with alot of character. The pool area is nice and the bar is a toss-up...sometimes the band is good, sometimes not. It is usually a one or two man band that sings and plays a few instruments. Also the bar tends to be cigarette-smoky and I can't stand that after a while. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing spectacular but worth the money and make for a good overnight get-away. We like to walk over to Derby Dinner, they share a parking lot with the hotel. It is a long walk though, and some people may prefer to drive. All of the service staff are friendly.

This hotel's lobby is in a separate building from the rooms. The lobby is super old school and in bad need of updating. It just has a very 1970's look and feel and just seems kind of depressing. The building my room was located in looked a little rough from the outside, entrance and elevator were both pretty cruddy as well. The room itself seemed clean and more up-to-date than the rest of the hotel. It's not the type of place that I will be returning to any time soon.

My partner and I stayed here on a Saturday night and it was very busy! We had a king smoking room and it was very nice. The exterior of the hotel is very nice. The interior hallways and lobby look very tired. We have no complaints about the inside of our room. It was a very relaxing stay. The only thing we didn’t care for was the small bathroom. The shower wasn’t big enough for two though =( It was very affordable and we would stay here again.
