We've stayed at several Hampton Inns and believe they are a good value for the money. You know what you will get; no surprises. The breakfast selections could be improved considerably, though. The toasters are usually over-used, if not broken. They should upgrade to commercial toasters. How many people really eat the waffles? I've seen many people burn them. I think the whole waffle thing could be eliminated with very few complaints. I like the idea of fruit salad, but it is basically a canned (jarred?) fruit salad that is heavy on syrup. How much would it cost to cut up fresh fruit and serve it plain, without syrup or sugar? The powdered eggs are not good and the ones with "ham" are worse. I'm sticking with toast or a bagel with whatever fresh fruit you have available. The juices and coffee are fine, as are the accommodations.
