I've been staying at this hotel on business for several years now. But virtually nothing has been updated or improved over that period of time. The TVs are still the old-fashioned variety, and the hotel's cable system makes it necessary to use TWO different remotes to operate the TV (no instructions provided). The rooms are spacious but the decoration is out of date. (Just what ARE those weird wall hangings over the beds?) The breakfast room is fine: a selection of waffles, eggs, sausage, cereals, fruit, yogurt, and packaged baked goods (more variety than I see in some other chain hotels). Management changed hands around 2011 and the service since then has been friendly but not necessarily efficient. (Examples: the guest laundry room has not been functioning properly on my last 3 visits; in January 2012 the card-access entry on one of the side doors remained out of service for the entire week of my stay.) The location is great (just a couple of blocks off the interstate and close to many restaurants and shops), but the front side of the hotel is noisy so ask for a room facing the rear.

Normally when I travel I have really good luck with CI&S (as an aside, their Ames, Iowa location is one of the best hotels I've EVER stayed in). I didn't book the Indianapolis-North location based on budget or reviews; I booked it through a third-party site for the 2011 Hot Rod Power Tour because it was listed as a convenient hotel for tour participants. Even so, I like the chain enough to pay what they charge because I've always had a great experience with them. Until this time. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I could tell this property needed work; there were overgrown shrubs and no attempt at landscaping or making the site visually appealing. Fortunately the interior looked better than the exterior, but overall, my impression was "Eh." The one and only staff member I encountered at the desk was more than helpful and she even gave me advice on dealing with Club Carlson points redemption. The room was so-so; everything just seemed kinda old and I was sure there were cigarette burns in the toliet seat. The pillows were terrible and the beds didn't seem up to the usual CI&S standard. The continental breakfast was what I've found at other CI&S's but you would be wise to avoid the eggs- I don't know what they were made with and they were gross. If what another reviewer wrote about the owner not spending money on the property is true, I would believe it. For what this chain charges their customers, I was disappointed in what I saw. There are other CI&S locations in Indy and I would try them instead if I was to return to the city.

My husband and I stayed at this facility just for a get away and absolutely loved it. The rooms were very nice. Bathrooms were very clean. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant. We stayed just overnight and had a continental breakfast. The breakfast was unlike any other we've experience in a hotel. It had homemade waffles, cereals, sausage, eggs, bacon, yogurt, bagels, coffee, o.j., the list can go on. They have a inside pool area, which I think my kids would really enjoy. Overall, I will stay at this facility again if we have to and maybe next time bring the kiddos along for the get away. Thanks Country Inn & Suites!

Woke up this morning......no hot water. Came home after a long day in the big city of Indianapolis.............no hot water. I went to the lobby and asked the kind worker if there was an issue with the water heater. She said she had only a couple of concerns but assured us the hot water heater is working. She said the issue is that the hotel is full. So I asked if the hotel runs out of water when it is full. She said no that it has been full before but it has never run out of hot water. She then went on to blame it on the fact that the hotel has never been full of cheerleaders before and they shower too much. For the record, tonight while the hot water was not working there were about 30 girls in the pool. So not every room was using the water.

Now if you are building a hotel, would you want to go through every situation possible to determine what type of mechanical systems you needed in order to be able to satisfy all of your customers?

The morning hotel staff were friendly and the lady who services the breakfast was wonderful and very attentive.
