Stayed here for 3 nights. It has a nice little kitchen in the room. It is intended as an extended stay situation so they only clean the room once a week but I was here for a short stay like a regular hotel and it was fine. VERY nice sheets and towels. Highly recommend it. I saw in another review that the Asian girl at the front counter was rude. Not so. She was cool and very helpful. When I told her I needed a gym she hooked me up with a free admission to Bally's Total Fitness and was very professional and friendly.

The only negative was that the free high speed internet was not wireless.

Don't miss dinner at Bob Chinns Crabhouse if you stay here. It's only a couple of blocks away....

The access road to this hotel is right by the runway. All the rooms have kitchenettes and it's the type of place people rent for extended stays. So it's more like a crummy studio apartment than a hotel room. Lobby and hallways were clean enough. But the modem was missing in my room, the tub faucet caulking hand come loose so the faucet was hanging off. I attempted to let the front desk know when I checked out around 8 a.m., but there was no one at the counter and a few others waiting. So I picked up the lobby phone which rang in the back room and she answered. So I told her I'd drop my key card behind the counter and I left.

I went to Wheeling, IL for a job interview on a short notice and due to all the weather on the northeast I was not able to travel by plane. I had to go Greyhound which became a 23 hour trip. By the time I got to the hotel it was a noon and check in time was at 3 pm.

The staff Jill and Marisa said "Well, lets get you check in earlier so you can rest for your interview" (I have stayed at other places where they will charge you extra if you check in earlier). But to Candlewood Suites, this was not an issue.

I was really taken back by how clean and very pretty the room was. It smelled fresh and clean. The towels and pillows are not your standard, there was 3 different pillow types. They even had FREE washers and dryers for the guest to use. The staff was great and very informative.

Over all I was very please to have made the right choice of staying at Candlewood Suites at a very affordable price.

Oh, and I got the job!

I stayed here for a little over a week this month. I got a really amazing deal on priceline so was expecting the worst but was generally pretty pleased with what i got.

Room is of a good size with kitchen facility, dining table with 2 chairs and bathroom. Kitchenette has a fridge freezer, microwave, stove and toaster. Bed is comfortable and room seemed clean. Maid service is only once a week but you can get new towels whenever you want by taking them to the desk to exchange.

I had stayed in another candlewood (in fairfax virginia) which was slightly nicer, recenly been refurbished so this one looked a little tired with the carpet and tv needing upgraded. Also we had problems with the applicances, the hairdryer, toaster and 1 ring on the stove all stopped working. We asked for them to be fixed at the desk but they said they couldnt do it on weekends. The staff were all nice apart from one girl, i dont know her name but she was chinese, she was so rude and unhelpful, didnt even look up when talking to you. I dont understand why she ever got a job in customer service!!

The location is a little out of the way for people not knowing the area very well, but great for you if you are working and are going to be there for a while. Wheeling itself has a few grocery stores and a Target and wal mart so you wont be stuck, there is also all the usual places to eat, Mdonalds, TGI's, etc.
