“Good value in Chicago area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011 via mobile

Stopped here for a night on our way between Chicago and Milwaukee. This was a good value for a place to stay not too far from Chicago but beyond the higher priced places closer to town. We appreciated the in room fridge and continental breakfast, which had plenty of options. The front desk staff recommended a family restaurant that was just across the parking lot and reasonably priced.

“Great Value, especially for Six Flags!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

We stayed here for two nights on a three-day trip to Six Flags and Gurnee Mills Mall. For the price, it was a great place to stay. It's not the Ritz Carlton, so do not expect it to be. But if you go in with realistic expectations, it was a great place.

THE GOOD: The hotel staff was phenomenal, especially Fran. I had a lot of little questions and needed some things I forgot and she answered all of them and took care of me with a smile. The breakfast was pretty good too. Nothing grand or extravagant, but the make-your-own waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits, cereal, fruit, and bagels was more than enough for us. The location is also great - if you want to stay for a trip to Six Flags, it's about a 5-10 minute drive, and you save so much compared to staying at one of the hotels right next to the park. Lastly, the things in the room were all very clean and fresh.

THE NOT-SO-GOOD: If you are planning on coming here on a trip that has you spending a lot of time in the room, I hope you bring a laptop and some DVDs. They have cable, but the channel selection is very small (basic news channels and some extras, like ABC Family. They do NOT have any ESPN channels, Comedy Central, USA, TNT, etc.) That was a bit disappointing for me. Also, while the linens and towels were clean, our room did have a stain on the floor. It was not a fresh stain, and did not bother me, but some may be put off by it (again, I don't expect them to change the carpet every time there is a spill, but thats just me. Everything else in the room was impeccable). Lastly, as someone else also had, we had a wonderful view from our window - of a brick wall, about 3 feet away.

Overall, if you are booking the Quality Inn and expecting a comfortable, clean place to sleep, a simple breakfast, and a quick drive to the local attractions, you would be hard pressed to find a better value. It's not a perfect hotel, and it is not luxurious, but it suits your needs, and the customer service was excellent.

“GREAT HOTEL FOR THE PRICE.....WE WILL GO BACK....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

Great hotel no major complaints. Tracey and Fran wonderful people, they really looked out for our church family. We had 18rooms with a total of about 58 ppl so that goes to show you out of those ppl they were satisified. We did have one complaint and that was one of the rooms wasnt pushing out cool air but they took care of it quick and gave us another room with no problems or attitude attached. So if you looking for a cost efficient room close to Six Flags or where ever in that area i do reccommend this hotel. The breakfast layout was good, even though they didnt have the meat the hot breakfast was still fulfilling.

Room Tip: rooms were great beds great overall nice rooms. my tip would be just check and make sure the air is...

“BEST place for one night stay for Six Flags or Gurnee/Waukegan area!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2011

My family and I stayed here Thursday, June 23rd through Saturday, June 25th for a Six Flags Great America weekend, it was me and my husband and our two daughters that are 7 and 1. My overall opinion is that is the BEST place for the price you pay!

Location: It's located on the corner of Belvedire and Green Bay Road right behind a diner type restuarant and the Secretary of State's Driver Services office (whom I actually work for!). So do NOT expect any type of a view! It was acutally about 10 minutes from Six Flags and there were restaurants, shopping/groceries, gas stations, banks, etc all around.

Property: There's 2 floors and no elevator so if that's a problem, call the morning of your arrival and request the 1st floor. It can't be garunteed, but they will try. I did it and it worked for me! They have FREE hot breakfast with make-your-own waffles, cereal, fruit, boiled eggs, bagels, breads, pastries, eggs, biscuits, gravy, oatmeal, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and milk. Breakfast is starts at 6:30a, get up early because there's only one wafflemaker and you could be waiting. There is limited seating so my advice is to get your food and take it to your room. There's aslo an exercise room to work off all that food with just a treadmill and eliptical machine. Its very cold in there. They have a parking lot that they share with the restaurant and the DMV there.

Room: We had a queen bed with sofabed in our room. The room was small so I don't recommend this hotel for a family with a long stay. Couples, yes. There was a desk, tv, microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, iron with ironing board, and seperate sink area. The sofabed is small too, only big enough for two kids or one adult. The bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. They didn't have enough towels or pillows for a room that sleeps 3 to 4 people, but when we called we were giving more with no problem. The door key card locks need updating and they need to do something to control guests smoking in their rooms.

I recommend this place for a short stay with a small travel party. Great value for your buck!

Room Tip: Call the morning of your check in to request!

“So-So”

Room was kinda small and carpet was stained. Overall the room was dated except for the furniture which was nice. Was surprised they actually offered "smoking rooms" something you rarely see anymore. So with that in mind, a screen on the window would have been nice to ventilate the room without worrying about bugs coming in.
Staff was very friendly and free breakfast was good. (waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuit/gravy and all the other usual stuff).
