Not sure how this hotel/motel has a three star rating. I'll start of by stating we checked in late after attending a family reunion in the area. There were people standing around outside the lounge as well as in the parking lot partying. We asked for non-smoking and were clearly put in a smoking wing as that was all you could smell in the hallway along with some indescribable musty odor. There were people loud and partying in the rooms along side of us as well as children running around the halls. Our room smelled like someone had used the bathroom (#2) in the middle of the floor. The a/c barely worked and smelled awful. We were so incredibly tired we turned up the volume on the TV and went to sleep. The next morning we told the front desk all our problems. The only response she gave was that we should have called security for the noise. I explained to her that their security guard was part of the party. I did not argue any further and just left. I will know better than to ever stay here again when in the area.

Went to see my husband's graduation at the navy base and I had to check in at this hotel. The front desk were mean. They give me less information on the hotel you have. Worse part they did not have an elevator. Since, I had an infant, I had to carry my baby and stroller on the stairs. Wow, this was so difficult for me because they would not help me out. Also when you enter the hallway to your room, there is this bad odor that smells. I'll telk you it really stinks. And the worse part ever, since I had to stay at the hotel for 3 days, no housekeepers bothered to clean my room in the morning. I had to call the front desk for room service, but they said they did not have room service in the afternoon. Wow, my stay here in Ramada was awful!!!!!

I read reviews before staying here and I didn't have any of the horrible experiences that some people write about. I stayed here from September 15-17 for my boyfriend's boot camp graduation. We checked in around 6:30 the night of September 15th. Check-in was fast and the front desk attendants were pleasant. They gave us all the details we needed to know. My boyfriend's parents and siblings went so altogether we had booked 3 rooms but they were all made under different reservations so none of us were near each other. Two of the rooms were on the first floor. Good luck staying there as this is the floor that most people use to get around the hotel. My room was on the second floor. As I was climbing the stairs to my room, I noticed a strange odor that reminded me of the smell of a funeral home. Not in a gross bodies way but in a carpeted, old house kind of way. My room was fine, it was not near any exit doors or stairwells but I got lucky with neighbors that constantly slammed their doors and decided to have a dance party the night before graduation. If you are a picky and light sleeper, I recommend using ear plugs and the AC/heat unit in your room to drown on the noises heard through the paper thin walls. My bathroom was clean but had the smell of smoke coming through the vent throughout my entire stay. We ate dinner at the Saddle Ridge Restaurant. Continental Breakfast was good but get there early if you plan on getting early to graduation because even at 6:45 when I went there was a short line. By 7, there's no line and plenty of empty tables. Good hotel for the money and its proximity to the base!

09/27/2011.I attended my son NAVY boot camp graduation on June 17 2011. Me my son and daughter along with her friend arrived from O'Hare International Airport and checked in at the Waukegan Ramada inn for FIVE days before graduation. We encounter a very helpful and professional staff. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. Though I understand that some people don't speak very good English, but this is not a reason to write a negative critic such as "wet mop head" appearance to a decent hard working person. Josh was very professional while conducting his duties. Also the person assigned in the breakfast area is a very hard worker, he manages to have everything clean in order for us to enjoy our breakfast. We enjoyed our stay the room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the staff was very professional. I completely disagree with the person that sees "wet mop heads" around her this sounds like a very immature person. Well going to better things Thursdays reception was fantastic the food was great a lot of people attended and enjoyed the moment.I also like to mention about the swimming pool,is well maintained but some people "guest" don't pick- up after themselves.
