“Average or less”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

This is what the typical Courtyard has become, unfortunately. They do have the newer lobby with The Bistro 'restaurant', which is at least a help. The placement of elevators in Courtyards is always frustrating, because they are only on one side, and you have to walk quite a ways to get to it. If your room is on the opposite side of the elevator - plan extra time! The rooms are typical. They are okay, but the beds aren't comfortable, the pillows are very lumpy, and the bedding looked dingy, flat and old. The room was clean mostly though, except for the sofa which was spotted. I wish the Courtyards would update their rooms.

“Nice Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

For a family of six, the two queen room was rather spacious. We had enough room for two sleeping bags on the floor too boot. The bathroom in our room was extremely quiet. They did a fantastic job of soundproofing the living space and the bathroom walls. We couldnt hear our toliet flush, let alone the upstairs or downstairs rooms.

The pool area was nice and clean. It didnt have an overwhleming smell of cholrine like you get with some hotel pools.

It was in a very easy location with a lot of restaurants in walking distance. Denny's is literally right next door and open 24 hours. There is also a detactched Starbucks coffee infront of the hotel.

Everything was very clean and comfortable. It was nice to have your own numeric air condition control panel. My husband loved that we could maintain a constant temper in the room with so many kids.

“Very nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011 via mobile

We stayed for one night on this visit to Illinois - we have stayed here in the past as well. They have updated the lobby and the rooms were clean and comfortable, as usual. The staff is great - they allowed us to check in at noon and they moved us to a new room when we heard noise through the adjoining door in our first room. Why hotels put adjoining doors in rooms is really beyond me - is there really a big calling for them? Anyway, they moved us without any trouble. Overall, another great stay. Plus, there is a Starbucks right next door!

“fine for what what you need”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

Out in this neck of the woods for a business trip, the Courtyard serves its purpose as a good place to stay in Waukegan. Rooms are roomy (ah, the midwest) but nothing fancy. Sitting area, desk with free internet, and flat screen. The lobby has been upgraded with the bistro area. Within walking distance are several dining options: Anastasia's (bar and pizza stuff) or Denny's in one direction, Starbucks and Potbelly sandwiches in the opposite, and Sweet Tomatoes (salad bar), Chili's, and Chipotle in the middle, plus the shopping center with a big Walmart (including groceries) across the street.
One thing to note, it is about $100 cab ride from O'Hare (meter and a half), but if you arrange ahead of time with the hotel they can send a local cab to pick you up for about half that (takes about 45 min to arrive at O'Hare, so plan accordingly).

“Clean, modern and comfortable.”

Very nice, quiet hotel with a friendly accommodating staff that helped us out with everything from a taxi to the airport to a couple of safety pins.
