We stayed at Lincoln Lodge in December, 2007, and also this past Mom's weekend for U of I. In December, the cost was $50.00 per night, which was appropriately priced. We only needed somewhere to stay during a bad snow storm so that we did not have to drive home following the pick up of our daughter for winter break. At that time, we would rate the place "good enough." They advertise continental breakfast, but all I found was a bag of bagels, a jar of peanut butter, a box of donuts, and some not so good coffee. However, Dunkin Donuts is across the street. We decided to make a reservation for Mom's weekend 2008, mostly due to the fact that everything else is sold out a year ahead of time, and they had rooms available. The price now went up to $100.00 per night. The rooms are very charming, with paneling, but the place needs maintenance. The shutters on the windows are in disrepair, and paper clips hold the curtains closed. The roof is in bad need of repair, and the tub fills up when you take a shower. The owner is very nice and accommodating, but I am not sure he understands all the maintenance issues with a hotel. When we were leaving, we went to get ice, but the ice machine was not working. They do have an outdoor pool, but I can't imagine how it is maintained. We decided to make a different arrangement for Mom's & Dad's weekends next year. However, if you like camping, you may like this place.
