“Room wasn't ready until 4:45 on a Saturday check-in!”

Traveling with 5 kids and two adults ready to unpack after our 5 hour drive from Michigan,we were happy to arrive at our hotel. First I have to be fair and say we stayed here because I got a great deal at Hotwire for this place. It was near my family we were visitng there and had a pool for the kids. When we arrived at 1:30 for our check-in...the front desk informed me the people had just checked out and I should have called to see if it was ready? Well, she then said it should be ready after about an hour and to come back. Not really what you want to hear especially with barely an apology. We came back at 4:30 thining that would be PLENTY of time to have the rooms (we had 2 booked) ready. NOPE...there they were cleaning away...vacuuming ...we sat on the bed while she finished. She leaves and in the sinks were many long hairs that were NOT mine! I called the front desk and they sent a very nice lady to take care of the matter. Being a neat freak, I always bring my own antibacterial wipes for the remote, headboard and toilet seats...I am fussy and no this hotel was not to my standards, but I do realize it is not a luxury hotel and yes, you do get what you pay for! Breakfast Sunday am was complete mahem...too many people in a small space...waffles juice hard boiled eggs...it was fine, just chaotic at the time I was there, not sure how most weekends compare? People barefoot and in their pajamas...ICK ! Good luck and carry your wipes :)

“Good Stay, Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

Came to Chicagoland for a high school reunion. Stayed in Tinley Park to be closer to the old neighborhood. Great staff, the room was fine. Did not rise early enough for the breakfast there. There was a bit of contractor work going on the week I stayed - but I understand - a hotel is a 24/7/365 operation. When will you get it done? They worked mostly evenings and overnight - noise not an issue. Cracker Barrel restaurant nearby - if you haven't had their meat loaf, you have to go there. All in all, I had a good stay.

“LaQuinta barely ok”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

When I entered my room it was very cold and I turned on the heating. It was late so I went to bed and after a while realized the heating wasn't working. I called up the reception and they moved me to another room nearbye. This room smelled of smoke although it was a non-smoking room. The light bulb on my side of the bed was out so I had to switch in a light bulb from another lamp. It was very inconvenient to have to get up again, get dressed, packed, and change rooms late at night when I had to give a speach the next morning. You would think they would check the heating in the rooms and that the light bulbs worked. So the place was just barely ok.

“Oh boy! Where do I start??”

My family and I along with several other families were in town for a sports tournament. We booked a block of rooms in advance and arrived after a long, very hot day with exhausted kids only to find out that most of the rooms were not ready. Prior to attempting to check in, we noticed a group of housekeepers sitting curbside smoking and chatting. Also, a large group of people were hanging around the entrance smoking and cursing and carrying on. We wanted to go elsewhere, but had already paid for the room and we all wanted to stay together. Once we got to the room, it was fairly pleasant and clean with a tiny bathroom. There were a few dark hairs on the sheets and stains on the bed skirts, the TV remote did not work at all, the screen was dark for all the channels except for PBS. We gave up and went to the pool. The kids had a great time, and then we headed to bed. In the morning, we were greeted with chips, pizza slices, human poop, cupcakes and other food smeared and spread all the way down the stairwell starting on the 4th floor. The access door to the outside was wide open! (Only supposed to be accessed with a room key). I don't know what went on in there, but there was a security guard on duty in the lobby all evening and even had the nerve to complain when our kids were a little loud trying to play a card game in the breakfast area. Where was the security guard when all that stuff was spread everywhere? Ugg.....Some of the "guests" of the hotel looked like frequent visitors who had another business going on in the rooms, if you know what I mean.:)) Definitely do NOT recommend this hotel for families with kids. Also, pets are allowed and people were walking their dogs thru the breakfast room while everyone was eating. We will not be returning to this hotel. P.S. The lobby reeks of smoke.

“Ok place which takes pets”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2011

We stayed overnight with a dog. The stay was ok.
Its probably ok for a business stay, but not a warm and fuzzy place. Its decently priced with a continental breakfast with waffles.
I guess this is acceptable if the price is right.
