My wife and I stayed at the Stratford in after a wedding reception that was held there. This is an histortic hotel right on the main drag in Sycamore. It is a quaint, old property that has been nicely maintained. Our room (Room 307) was a Queen Room that was very small, but nice enough and very clean.
This was the perfect location for us, as we were able to be at the party and then just wander upstairs afterward. Although I don't think this would be a great place for a business traveler, it was nice for a weekend getaway in a nice little small town.
Parking was on the street on the side and behind the hotel. We did have to feed a meter before 6:00pm, but it was ten cents for fours hours. The hotel does have free Wi-fi througout the hotel, even in the room which was nice. The biggest downside to me, was only a mini-blind on the window, which didn't filter out much of the light once the sun came up and also an incredibly loud groaning noise in the wall at about 10:00am. Had we still been asleep, that would have been a problem.
All in all, good value, good location (if you are in Sycamore) and I was happy that I stayed there.
