I would never stay in this place again, even if I was paid! The shower curtains were beyond disgusting. Thank god we only had to stay one night, because I refused to shower. The indivuduals at the front desk came across as rude and annoyed by any request. The pool area had ONE chair and when I asked for another chair so I didn't have to sit on the floor in the pool area, I was refused a chair. There were no towels in the pool area and when the children walked into the lobby area wet, they were yelled at. My brother-in-law's air conditioner was not working in his room, in the middle of JULY, and when he requested a different room or a new air conditioner, he was denied, saying he could check out and go somewhere else. Good luck staying in business running your hotel this way. I will NEVER stay in this hotel again.

We have family in Streator so need to stay in town every so often. We had not stayed in town for 2 years now however, and were a bit worried about the 8 since we had not been in a while. It was not so bad really. It does need to replace towels for new ones and it needed some carpet cleaning but it was not gross. The room was clean enough not spotless but very satisfactory. The bed was comfortable, pillows a bit thin but there were extras. The pool was working and clean. All amenitites in the room were clean and in working order. Breakfast was adequate and fresh. Coffee at the bar was very weak but little coffee maker in room was good. We also were happy because the owner was full on saturday night but he called people who had reserved for us to see if they were really coming into town so that we could keep the room we had. He kept us informed of the situation and was very courteous. I was also afraid that because the hotel was full we would be kept up by noise or something but it was quiet. For a 1 star hotel it is fine. It could use some updating and cleaning up on the outside but if you have to stay in Streator it is adequate.

My co-worker and I stayed at the motel for 2 nights. I had read the reviews before I went and was ready for the worst, and it wasn't that bad. The rooms were just fine. I travel 20-30 weeks out of the year so I have definitely stayed in worse. The rooms have microwaves and fridges, the bathrooms look new, and it looked clean. The only thing that should have been updated was the ironing board cover as it had some nasty stains on it. Otherwise, everything else was fine - the customer service was good for us. The Wi-Fi is free, but cuts in and out a lot. There is no reason to be as hesitant as I was to stay there based on the other reviews on this site. It's a decent motel for the price.

Was booked into this motel by travel agent. Stayed in Streator for three days for business. The property is poorly maintained. The owners have posted computer printed signs all over the place with orders to guests. One example was a sign to stay out of the breakfast area. The overall impression is that the owners are unfriendly and not very customer oriented. The place had an overall look of being dirty, not maintained quickly falling into disrepair.

Mattresses on beds are old and lumpy. My bed sunk in the middle so I had to be careful not to sleep too close or I would roll into the depression in the middle of the bed. Sheets and towels are very poor quality and extremely thin. Very stingy with towels, soap and shampoo. My soap and shampoo were not replaced even though I was there three nights. I don't know if this is the norm for Super 8 Motels but they definitely have not become part of the trend of higher quality bedding, towels and mattresses such as you get in a Hampton or Fairfield.

The breakfast was the bare minimum, toast, bagels and some sweet rolls. The last day I was there the coffee machine was not working so they put coffee out in a small drip machine such as someone would use in their kitchen.

I told my travel agent that even with $4 a gallon gas I will drive the 15 miles each way to Ottawa to be able to stay in a Hampton Inn.

If you have any choice at all go elsewhere. There is not much of a selection of lodging in Streator Illinois so you probably should go to a closeby town that has something better. This was not a pleasant experience.
