“Brrr!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I stayed here overnight on my way out of town. When I arrived, the temperature in my room was frigid. I normally sleep cold, so turned the thermostat up to 65. However, the blanket and bedcovering were so thin, I turned the thermostat up again, this time to 72. It took until 4 am to reach that temperature. Shivering most of the night, I slept very little.

In the morning, the dining room sported a hand lettered sign strictly prohibiting anyone from taking any of the breakfast items out of that room - and a "minder" to make sure no one did.

I would not stay here again.

For staying one night the room is just fine. Worked out great leaving car there 10 days and shuttle was waiting for us at hotel lobby in an and was there again at the airport when we got back...no wait. For a park n fly this is perfect.

“VERY Noisy - NOT for light/moderate sleepers”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel with the park-sleep-and-fly program prior to flying out of O'Hare. The hotel was clean, the staff were fairly friendly/helpful, and the attached restaurant/bar fed us tasty food. The hotel and room looked average to above average. However, upon trying to get to sleep the night before a long travel day, around 10 or 11 PM at night, we soon realized that we made a BIG mistake in staying here. Little did we know that the attached restaurant/bar was going to play LOUD (and I mean loud) music with a loud bass beat from 10 or 11 PM at night until 3 AM!! The bar is actually open until 4 AM but somehow the music stopped sooner. I think that I slept only about 2 hours throughout the night and felt MISERABLE the day of travel at O'Hare. Thus our vacation was off to a very unhappy and sleepy start. The sad thing is that our room wasn't even one of the closest rooms to the restaurant/bar but we could hear the music loud and clear. Furthermore (as another reviewer mentioned), the heat/air conditioning unit is quite loud. It turns on and off all night long (unless you set it to a continuous fan or have it off completely so you freeze). Plus, you could also hear loud guests returning to their rooms late at night talking down the hallways (the walls must have been very thin). Thus we felt pretty miserable that night and the next day all thanks to this Quality Inn (Schiller Park off Mannheim Road). If you are a light-moderate sleeper DO NOT STAY HERE.

Room Tip: Do NOT stay in a room anywhere close to the restaurant/bar.

“FINE FOR A SLEEP, PARK AND FLY”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

We have used this hotel for a park, sleep and fly program several times when we have booked international travel from Chicago O'Hare. The rooms are clean and bug free, but the bathrooms are much in need of updating. Shampoo, soap and lotion are the only items stocked. There is a mini fridge in the room. Ladies, if you need a shower cap, bring one along. The airport noise did not bother us at all, but I was kept awake by the heat/air conditioning unit next to the window as it did its cycling. My husband slept through it, but I am a light sleeper. Airport noise is at a minimum after 9:00 p.m. or so. The alarm clock did not work, but we asked for a wake up call as a back up and that was very prompt. There is a restaurant on premise, but we did not use it, as we have a favorite pizza place not too far away.

There is 24 hour airport transportation service to the airport, just let the front desk know what time you are going. The van is not hotel owned and is operated by Avistar. It will usually be there about 20 minutes after you order it. We had a 4:30 a.m. pickup and the van was full! (Quite a few airline pilots/flight attendants stay here). Return transportation is very easy. It only took 10 minutes after we called the hotel from the airport for a pickup. Nice, quick and smooth. Telephone numbers for the pick-up service are available at the front desk. Make sure to take one along on your trip.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced park, fly and sleep, this is just fine. We do not need the amenities of a five star hotel for a few hours sleep prior to our flight.

“Noisy and not suitable for light sleepers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Light sleepers should avoid this place. Not only is there the noise of planes but traffic as well. Having said that, the rooms were just fine. Clean and comfortable. Although it did smell a bit weird.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing North Mannheim road, its still a bit noisy but nowhere near as bad as the nois...
