It is a newer Super 8. Not like the old ones at all. It sits high up on a hill and is very scenic. Close to all of Savannas neat places to go.
Rooms are clean and large. Staff is friendly. Price is right. This was my 3rd stay and will stay here again when I am in the area.

This is a great little hotel, rooms were clean and cozy, pool was warm and like a giant jacuzzi, breakfast was nice, staff was nice especially the lovely Miranda, however when we went to check out after two nights I noticed that the lady who had procured a copy of our drivers license was stapling the copy to the back of the bill and I inquired why they would keep that because heads up folks Identity theft is the number one fastest growing crime and we were almost a victim once before because of something similar and she said well the owner always keeps that personal information and I was like that makes me uncomfortable but she said there was nothing she could do quite sternly so we had no choice but to leave and I was VERY uncomfortable with her keeping our license copies since that is enough information to do lots of damage to someone's credit if it falls into the wrong hands, I mean once our business was concluded why should she keep that???
we paid cash for both nights and were given a receipt showing paid in full, so imagine our surprise when a week after returning home we get a phone call from the owner and I am thinking great she is calling about my concerns about my personal information but instead she is accusing us of not paying for our second night???? I have a receipt which I faxed to her, however she was adamant that they did not have the money, well I think maybe they need to check our their employees and not us, I have a receipt signed paid in full!!!!! WE PAID! I was flabbergasted and not amused! Will not stay there again EVER! Note to self never pay cash at a hotel again!

Supposedly it is a non-smoking room/hotel, unfortunately it smells cigarette as though somebody had been smoking all day and nite in the hall way. Inside the room, it smells like dog urine. We asked if we could change the room, unfortunately we were told that the hotel was fully booked. We had to open the window to let out the bad air from our room. The hot tub doesn't work. The swimming pool water is so boiling hot like a hot spring! The breakfast is just something that is better than nothing. They gave a discount but I really think it is not worth it. There isn't much going on in that area. You might as well travel further to Galena for a nicer hotels.

The home page for Super 8 is offering a 'Stay two nights, we'll comp the Third' deal, yet when I went to book the room, this hotel says it does not partake of the chain's deals. As a 9 year member of Wyndham Rewards, and one who stays in motels 246 nights a year, I found this to be un acceptable.

So, looks like I will be giving the local mom and pop hotel (L &M) my business. Big corporations just don't give a crap about their regular customers anymore. Don't expect them to give a crap about the casual traveler. Let them know you aren't happy with that.

And, why spend a $100 a night in a chain that doesn't care when you can spend half and get so much more because the Mom & Pop motel cares about you.
