I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare yearly for the past five years for a convention. Beautiful lobby, easy check-in/check-out, and friendly staff who are quick to correct any problems that come up. Our room was very clean, comfy, well-decorated and had a mini-coffee maker that makes one cup at a time - very sanitary. The hotel is very convenient to the Stephens Convention Center. If the weather's nice, you can just cross the street from the ground floor to the convention center. If the weather's rotten, you will be glad to take the 10-minute stroll down the winding indoor walkway to the convention center. The restaurant on the lobby level has good food and service but is a little over-priced. What I have learned: if you are told that your room is in the Executive Wing, this means that you will leave the lobby and walk down one long hallway and then another and wait forever for an elevator. If you are on the 27th floor of the Executive Wing, this means you are really on about the 7th floor - I imagine that some newly-minted MBA got a bonus for these clever marketing ploys! I have also stayed in the central part of the hotel right above the open lobby; these rooms get a little more noise but the location is more convenient and the wait for an elevator is not as long even when there's a crowd. If you are at the hotel without a car or don't want to drive, Carlucci's Italian restaurant up the street provides a free shuttle. While the food at Carlucci's is expensive, they have excellent Italian food, good-sized portions and lovely atmosphere and service. I would recommend the Hyatt Regency O'Hare for anyone coming for a convention at the Stephens Center.
