“Good place to stay for convention at the Stephens Center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare yearly for the past five years for a convention. Beautiful lobby, easy check-in/check-out, and friendly staff who are quick to correct any problems that come up. Our room was very clean, comfy, well-decorated and had a mini-coffee maker that makes one cup at a time - very sanitary. The hotel is very convenient to the Stephens Convention Center. If the weather's nice, you can just cross the street from the ground floor to the convention center. If the weather's rotten, you will be glad to take the 10-minute stroll down the winding indoor walkway to the convention center. The restaurant on the lobby level has good food and service but is a little over-priced. What I have learned: if you are told that your room is in the Executive Wing, this means that you will leave the lobby and walk down one long hallway and then another and wait forever for an elevator. If you are on the 27th floor of the Executive Wing, this means you are really on about the 7th floor - I imagine that some newly-minted MBA got a bonus for these clever marketing ploys! I have also stayed in the central part of the hotel right above the open lobby; these rooms get a little more noise but the location is more convenient and the wait for an elevator is not as long even when there's a crowd. If you are at the hotel without a car or don't want to drive, Carlucci's Italian restaurant up the street provides a free shuttle. While the food at Carlucci's is expensive, they have excellent Italian food, good-sized portions and lovely atmosphere and service. I would recommend the Hyatt Regency O'Hare for anyone coming for a convention at the Stephens Center.

Room Tip: If you don't mind a little noise, ask for a room in the central part of the hotel above the open...

“Good for a Conference”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

The Room was roomy. We wish the WiFi was Free!! The Room was clean. Tea in the room was a plus. Free water would have been nice too. Bed and Breakfast have Free Treats and Water. I will be going back in March for a conference. Maybe they will have chocolate waiting for repeat guests. Guess I am dreaming.

“Nice airport hotel. Big. New rooms, nice club”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

By hyatt standards, this is an average property in my opinion...but as such, it is a far cry better than the competition.

Rooms are nice, public areas striking, and food outlets pleasing.

After a recent renovation, the hotel has regained the grandeur of its original opening.

I will be back, i will be comfortable and i will be happy. :)

Room Tip: I prefer the main building rooms.....

“Very Crowded, but super nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Wife and I stayed here one night in July. There is a shuttle service about every 15 min to and from O'hare, which is really nice when you've traveled all night and just want to go to sleep. There was some sort of convention going on so there was a ton of people out at 2am.
But, the hotel is very nice, especially compared to other hotels we've stayed in around O'hare. Check in was easy and quick. Check out was electronic and quick.

The room was clean, spacious, and borderline luxurious (considering price and location).
Location: Fairly close to the airport. The biggest advantage to this hotel is that it is literally walking distance to the blue line (CTA) which will take you right down town for a couple of bucks. The convenience makes it a perfect place to stay if you don't want to pay huge downtown chicago prices.

Would certainly stay there again without hesitation.

How exciting that you and your wife were able to take advantage of so many of the amenities! The shuttle is extremely convenient and I would definitely recommend taking the CTA Blue Line as an inexpensive method to get downtown. Although, for your next trip, there is going to be much more to offer in our local village of Rosemont. Hopefully you and your wife have the opportunity to return!

“Great location, where is the pool?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare for 3 nights attending a trade show at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center. The convention center is connected by a walkway from the hotel - what is very convenient.

The hotel was modern and the service was good. My room was on the Executive Floor and had all expected features. The internet was very fast, but I selected the premium service.

I would have loved a minibar in the room.

The Gym and the Hyatt Regency club was next to the lobby. It felt a little strange to have to walk through the lobby on my way to a work out. The Gym was nice. I was surprised the property did not offer a pool.

I thought a $22.50 parking fee per night was expensive.

As a Hyatt Diamond member I have access to a complimentary breakfast in the club. The breakfast in the club room is always substandard compared to the buffet in the restaurant. SInce club access was free for me, I would have gladly pay a little more for the regular hot buffet. I wonder why Hyatt would not offer a discount for those that have access to a free breakfast but are willing to pay for the buffet

it was well worth paying $3.50 for a double expresso at the hotel Starbucks, instead of relying on the coffee machine at the Hyatt Regency club room.I always wonder why hotels not improve the quality of their expresso machines.

Overall I was satisfied with the hotel and enjoyed my stay.
