“A pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

I stayed at this hotel for three nights when I couldn't find a reasonably priced room downtown. My expectations weren't high, since I really just needed a clean place to sleep that was accessible by public transit, but the hotel actually turned out to be quite nice and a great value for the rate.

The Aloft room layout is not for everyone - it's basically a big square room with a single wall in the middle, with the bed on one side and a sink/shelf area on the other. The shower and toilet are divided by a sliding door from the sink area. The furnishings are a bit quirky but clean and comfortable, and there was clearly a lot of thought given to the decor.

The staff at the hotel were quite friendly, and one of the best amenities was the free local shuttle bus, which I was able to take to and from the train station every day, saving me a mile-long walk to the hotel in the cold or a trek to the airport to pick up the shuttle from there. Apparently the local shuttle can take you pretty much anywhere in the Rosemont area where the hotel is located.

I try to stay downtown whenever possible, but if I need to stay at the airport again this will probably be my top choice.

“Amazing hotel and super affordable!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

This was definitely the best deal for a hotel in chicago. Everything thing in the hotel is up to date and modern. Something you would find in downtown chicago for a whole lot less. The staff was friendly and the shuttle drivers were amazing!!

Room Tip: the rooms with 2 beds are much larger!!

“if you visit o'hare, try and stay here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

Although the hotel is a bit quirky - no towel holder for the hand towels, no dressers to unpack in (just cubby holes), the quick response of the staff to any request outweighs all the other considerations in my opinion. If you want a hotel convenient to O'Hare that makes customer service a priority this is the place to stay.

“You'll Want to Spend More Than 1 Night!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

This hotel will exceed prior expectations if you're used to the huge hotel chains. One night is not enough to experience such a modern, sleek, fun hotel that was given much thought in the design process. It's approximately 7 or 8 minutes to the Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The only drawback to this is that the airplanes sporadically flying overhead may annoy you. If you're exhausted by the end of the day, you'll sleep in oblivion. The Convention Center is also very close. Complimentary shuttle bus is provided.

There is no restaurant on the premises, but an interesting snack area where you can purchase fruit, chips, beverages, etc. If you have time or you're bored, you'll want to explore the hotel. The bar lounge is quite trendy and there's a pool table, which is not common in hotels. You almost feel as if you stepped into a higher end nightclub.

The rooms were clean, with cool window treatments, a work desk, mini fridge, magazine rack, a rain shower head and an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The decor was consistent with the the theme of the hotel. Don't be afraid of the blue soap. It will not turn your hands blue. It was like a mini studio apartment. The bed was comfortable and for the most part, a peaceful night. The staff that we encountered were friendly and professional. Overall, a satisfying stay and wouldn't mind returning to experience more of the hotel.

“Stephens convention center hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

This is a fun hotel with cleverly designed rooms perfect for a single or couple in town for the convention center. It took about 5-10 minutes walk and there are also several walking distance restaurants. Hotel lobby is "hip" with friendly employees. Pool small but exercise room adequate..The Blue line is about a 15-20 minute walk but Aloft has a shuttle for transport there or OHare. No nearby convenience stores so you may want to bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy the flat screen TV.
