I travel alot and stay at many hotels. Just booked family xmas party and went for a tour and thought I was getting a great deal considering you get alot for your money. You get a the pools, basket ball court etc.... What I wasn't informed of was that the entire place shuts down at 11:00 pm so if you plan to shoot hoops late, or want to hang out at the hotel bar thats closed as well. You have security that follows you after 11:00 and they lock up everything!!!! While my family had limited entertainment after 11 last night, we also saw a roach. Only to find out that another family member found another one in their room. Im not one to complain, yet this hotel needs to do some major changes. During the set up of our party, our waitress had her children their helping her set up, which was her kids touching all the silverware.
Before you book your stay or a party, go in on a sat from 3-6 to watch staff set up other parties. Ask about specific detail regarding the Holidome. I feel I was mis lead. Also security is mean, we asked for extra chairs for my family to sit in after 11:00 pm and the do not allow you to be in any sections of the Holidome. You can not use any thing in the Holidome, which is 90 % of the Hotel!!!!!

Room Tip: Bring bug spray and your own chairs!!!!Your better off going camping!!!!

“Great stay!”

Stayed here 2 nights on business. When keys didn't work to get into room after check in, front desk staff gave me drink coupons for the inconvience. Place was a bit worn down, but we enjoyed the hottub and smaller spa. Room was accessible from back parking lot. Overall was a great stay.

“worst hotel ever!”

We stayed 1night at this hotel for business, and I took my family along. It was the worst hotel ever! Everyone, please trust me on this, and avoid this hotel. They need to wake up and improve their service.

1. No drain bath tub. My hubby took shower, and water did not drain at all! When he got out from shower, the water was nearly 2feet. I am not joking! We comlained about this when we checked out, front desk said "ok", not even said sorry for inconvenience.

2. They played music all night long, well not all night since I complained to front desk at 10:30pm and demanded to stop the music so I could sleep.

3. We rented crib for our 2year-old son, and it broke and my son fell on to the floor. Fortunatelly, he is fine... Horrible...

I strongly to stay other hotels, but not here! I am not complain about all holiday inn hotel, just not at this location.

I sincerely apologize for the incident and surly we took drastic steps that we possibly could to eliminate it quickly. We have a prestigious pest control agency on board. Good news is that due to change in weather some of these pests may have found their way into warmer interior space. However, ORKIN was right on it immediately and to we have not seen any incident since. Hope this gives comfort that ORKIN has been monitoring and controlling this area very diligently and a sporadic incident will not sway you away for all the great amenities and comfort this hotel offers.

“Holiday Inn Rolling Meadows: close to major shopping and the hotel has business style amenities”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

I stayed at this hotel for business for two days in January 2007 (had to pick an alternate date for the review as the drop down menu only goes back to 2010), and stayed in an upgraded King Executive Suite using my rewards points. With this option, I also had access to the Hospitality suite, which is a medium sized room with television, magazines, etc. and also has a fridge stocked with items that are free of charge to rewards members. You receive a special keycard for this room.

I understand that there have been some improvements to the property, which are definitely welcome, as the rooms were just a bit dated when I was there previously. Mind you, the rooms were not bug infested or had peeling wallpaper, shower issues or anything of that sort, just lacked any real pizzazz, very plain (Just see my other reviews, if any of that were happening, I would definitely tell you! :). The pics on the site of the updates seem to have raised the property up considerably in my opinion. The restaurant seems to be upgraded (the food was good when I was there); the staff was great and very helpful, knowledgeable of the area and could provide good directions. The hotel has a business center with meeting rooms and also recreational facility available during extended hours. As I was checking in after 7pm, I was pleased to see that the hotel offered something interesting for a quick bite to eat. Every evening there is a Manager's reception and mixer featuring pub foods and cocktails free of charge. Hotel offers late checkout if your room has not already been reserved by another party, they will also hold your luggage until you leave for the airport which is great for business travelers who need to checkout early because of meetings and need a place to stow their luggage. Major malls and other conveniences within less than a 5 minute drive of the hotel. A road runs in front of the hotel, but this didn't cause much traffic noise. Because it seems to cater to business travelers, the property was not very noisy inside at all. Overall, not a bad place to stay for business.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the room
