“Priceline.com let us down”

We've always been very happy with the hotels Priceline.com has sent us to in the past. Rolling the dice with Priceline.com will get you a jackpot on occassion, but this trip was a total bust.
The rooms are small, the bathroom door narrowly cleared the toilet when opening and closing, and the hotel offers no areas such as a lounge, snackbar, etc.
Upon checking in we were immediately disappointed with the room but figured it was just for one night. Then our 7 yr old daughter came running from the bathroom yelling, "it's overflowing, it's overflowing"!
The toilet wouldn't flush. (This wasn't due to anything she had done if you know what I mean.)
The desk clerk on duty at the time gets a thumbs up for her diligence. She came to our room, plunger in hand, and attempted to clear it. No good. We were about to leave for a wedding and were told that upon our return the problem would be fixed or they'd move us to a new room. Well, it didn't get fixed and they struggled to locate a room for us to move to. You'd think they'd have set one aside when they were unable to fix the toilet. We lugged our belongings up the stairs to the third floor to the new room and found an unclean room with no sheets on the bed and clutter on the countertop. Back down to the front desk and another wait. We ended up in a handicap accessible room with a functioning toilet, but by now the image of the hotel had been permanently damaged for us.
We'll continue to use Priceline.com for booking our hotels but I'll be crossing my fingers not to receive an Extended Stay America hotel again.

“Find somewhere else to stay...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2007

Wow, were we ever disappointed with this hotel! Good price and location, but the whole place had a really weird vibe to it - the clientele were questionable, the room was dingy and not comfortable, the TV was TINY, very loud (high winds, next to freeway) very little bathroom amenities, and no common area amenities either (i.e. breakfast, lounge, etc.). I'd only stay here again if there wasn't another room within 30 miles, and even then I'd hesitate. The staff was friendly enough and we were able to check in early & check out fast (believe me, we wanted to!), but that's where the positives stop. Just a super basic hotel that we were disappointed with.

“Excellent value for the money, the Best”

Many times a year my family and I go to Rockford to visit friends and family. We have a very young toddler and have found the Extended Stay America to be by far the best hotel for it's value. Now the only negative is there isn't a pool. But if you plan to be away from the hotel a lot anyway then that's really not an issue. The room we had had a refrigerator(not tiny it was apartment sized) and also a sink, stove, and microwave. They even went so far as to include dishes and utensils. This kitchenette has been a lifesaver for us, especially if you have children or babies and need to keep bottles or snacks on hand. It helps to save lots of money too with keeping your own snacks instead of running to the convenience store everytime. The rooms and the rest of the hotel were very clean and the employees have always been very professional. For under $60.00 you aren't going to find a room this nice anywhere else in Rockford. I know my family will be going back many times!!
