“Clean, accomodating, great value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2011

We stayed at the Residence Inn from Friday, April 30th through Sunday, May 1st. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. There is complimentary coffee, breakfast, and Monday through Friday, a light dinner. Granite counter tops in the kitchen and bath, and plush bedding. You can borrow a DVD and DVD player. The movie selection could be updated, as most of the movies were from the 80's and 90's, and you do have to bring and hook up the DVD player to your room, but still, a nice amenity. Beds were very comfortable, rooms extremely clean with ample space. They even offer to do a grocery run at no extra cost other than the groceries ordered! Our only "complaint" was that we didn't realize our room was in the annex building across the parking lot from the main building. This was not so convenient if you wanted to bring breakfast back to the room, swim and/or workout when the weather was less than accommodating. Still, the value and qualities of the hotel outweighed the cons. If we ever have the need to stay in Rockford again, we will be staying at the Residence Inn.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building

“Dissapointed!”

We stayed at this property last year, and we thought it had gone down hill since then. Our room was rough around the edges. The furniture had grease spots on the arms, and looked worn. There was construction on both entrances to the building we were in ( across the parking lot from reception) there were workmen blocking the entrance it was dirty, and loud and this was going on into the weekend. The also had the outside security door that you need your keycard to access taped, so the door could be opened without a key. That was a little unnerving. I like having a little feeling of security, when I am in a strange place. The breakfast area had a drawer front missing, and the cover for the socket where the toater plugged in was missing the cover. It just looked rough to me. We always stay at Residence Inns, but this one needs some refurbishment. They did have an ice machine in the hall which is a plus. The breakfast was good, but there was never enough seating for everyone trying to eat.

“Nice place - I've stayed there often and would definitely stay again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

I have been through Rockford for business and personal trips many times over the last 8-10 years, and this is one of my favorite places to stay. I like the Residence Inns as a chain (especially traveling with my kids - 6 and 9) and this hotel didn't disappoint. We had a nice, clean comfortable room. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub, although it did get quite crowded with families on a Friday night. The staff was gracious and helpful, and the breakfast fare was typical Residence Inn - pretty good for a free buffet. (Just please, add a few more healthy options = )

The restaurant across the parking lot is great (I think it's call Thunder Bay Grille) - we had a great meal there - and I've had many other great meals there.

Overall, I would stay again and recommend to friends.
