“Necessity”

Desk Staff was friendly and accomodating. English was poor, however. Location stinks - hard to find from the interstate exit and not well marked on frontage road. Far from any convenience stores, restaurants or liquor stores. Room (non-smoking) smelled musty and smoky - couldn't open window to air out as it had no screen and bats were flying outside in parking lot. Carpet and bedspreads were gross, worn and need to be replaced. Shower head had mold on it as did showere walls and floor. Towels were clean - linens - other than bedspread were clean. Breakfast was OK. Definitely would not stay here again - even though the price was very good. Only stopped here as I had driven some 700 miles and couldn't keep my eyes open any longer to look for another hotel.

“Trash heap.”

When checking in was told only smoking rooms available. We had reserved a nonsmoking room and even confirmed it by rechecking our confirmation email from Sleep Inn. Still could only get a smoking room. The room was on the second floor which had a pungent odor of stale smoke. The carpeting was badly stained and dirty. The AC in the room didn't work. The clerk did move us to another smoking room that did have working AC. Of course the room stunk of smoke. The AC front panel in that room was broken and hanging from the unit. The flip lock on the door was broken off and the ratty carpeting was loose from the floor. The shower shower stall floor had a dark stain which may or may not have been a mold stain. The so called queen size beds were really only full size. When checking the beds for signs of bed bugs we found the matresses were badly stained and there were holes in the bedding. The entire hotel doesn't look like it had updates since it was built ptobably in the 60's. This is without a doubt the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Did have reservations for two nights but checked out after one.

“ICK!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

From floor to ceiling, absolute deterioration! The condensation between the glass was so bad you could not see out the window. The carpet was disgusting throughout; we did walk ANYWHERE without socks or shoes (including the shower). Our room did not have cable or satellite TV. We found a disgustingly, brown, dirty washcloth hanging over the shower rod. The sheetrock tape was peeling off the walls. The entire lighting system was in desperate need of renovation. The pictures on the hotel's website, if not fake, are incredibly flattering! (There is no way the pool is that big). You could see light through the doors! We never write reviews for hotels, but we wanted to let everyone know that this hotel is not worth the $50 we paid for it!

“Needs a upgrade”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2011

We stayed at the Sleep Inn for one night while in Peoria. Check in was speedy and prices were reasonable. Rooms need an upgrade - dated furniture and carpets. Bathroom needs an upgrade too. Wouldn't stay there again. Disappointed all around.

“Believe the Reviews and stay down the street at Comfort Suites”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

Checked in and was horrified by the lobby/pool/breakfast area crowded with dozens of loud kids. Guess there was a volleyball tournament or some big deal in town and initially worried about all the kids with lack of supervision.

Lucky to get a room on the top floor so we would only have to hear the munchkins running down the halls. Hallway carpet was completely worn through in many places but on initial opening of room, were somewhat pleased. Until we got to looking around...

Cigarette burns on the comforter (non-smoking room), the smoke detector was wrapped in plastic as if they had painted the ceiling and forgot to remove. Shower head was covered in what looked like mold but was serious calcium build-up that a scrubbing with a washcloth would not clean or remove. More mold in the bottom of the shower door. Bed was VERY firm which is good for me but not my wife. Message light on the phone would not go off so finally unplugged the phone.

Got in somewhat late only to be greeted by the breakfast area full of parents having a good time while their kids were upstairs doing god knows what... Oh yeah, running the halls, being loud, bouncing balls off the walls, normal kid stuff.

Woke up in the middle of the night by my wife beating on the wall to get whomever was on the other side to quit bouncing a ball off the wall. Didn't even bother to call the room, probably would not have gotten a parent anyways.

The hotel staff should plan for stuff like this and "threaten" the parents at check-in to remind them that they are responsible for their children.

Pretty sure we would not stay here again - Extended Stay is a door or two down, Comfort Suites and Red Roof are down the street. Not the worst Sleep in we have endured but certainly won't be getting any awards anytime soon.
