Thought I'd try a Red Roof for a change rather than my typical Motel 6 while traveling with a pet (small dog). Red Roof is a few dollars more than Motel 6 usually, but the wifi is free here too, and Motel 6 charges $3 for it at most locations, so that narrowed the price difference. Also Red Roof didn't have any single bed rooms left so I had to pay a little more since I got 2 beds (which I didn't need). Motel 6 charges based on number of people, so that's a difference I noted also. However, this Red Roof is just fine: the room smells a little like it needs better ventilation and the AC unit looks kind of old and dirty. The cover is missing on the overhead light fixture and that looks tacky. The bed was reasonably comfortable, on the firm side but I slept well. Red Roof welcomes pets at no extra charge so that was a plus for me. Bathroom is clean. All in all a good choice for those on a budget. Front desk staff was friendly too.

I've grown to like Red Roof Inns as they take dogs for free and generally you can park right out side the room if on the lower level. I stayed at this particular inn twice within a week. For the first stay everything was as expected, with no surprises. It's not delux, but a great price and a great value. The second stay had a problem beyond the control of the hotel. There was a water main shutdown scheduled for midnite to 4:00 am. Should have been no problem except the water was not yet turned on when I left at 10:30 am. In the morning they handed out bottled water and had fresh coffee available. While it was not the fault of the hotel, they gave me a voucher for a free one night stay at any Red Roof Inn. They really did the best they could under the situation.

I found the clerk at my arrival to be helpful, friendly. The room was more than up to the red roof standards.
