We stayed on New Years Eve because of an ad for a family party. The ad mentioned favors, balloons, champagne, etc. but you had to take a shuttle bus to Jillian's, a local bowling alley, arcade, bar, restaurant for that--nothing was provided at the hotel--as the ad implied. As a result, a group of 5 families got wasted on beer they brought into the hotel while their children ran crazy through the rooms and the halls.
The kid on duty had only worked there for two weeks. He started the warnings in the afternoon. He must have "warned" them four or five times. It sounded like they stole a bowling bowl from Jillian's and were throwing it around the floors. The last time they acted up was around 2:45 am.
In the meantime, the building is built cheaply from poor quality materials. The windows are very thin. I was surpised they opened with no screens. The flagpoles clanked all night long and we never really fell asleep. The fan in the bathroom chugged unless you ran it. The fan in the heater/ac unit was so cheap--it cut off after a few minutes and the fan would not run constantly (to drown out the noise.)
When I went to get coffee from the nice morning buffet, the gal said they had no security. She would have handled it differently. I don't think the staff realized the package which they advertised. Many patrons with dark circles around their eyes milled around the coffee, complaining about the chaos the night before then. When we ate, we had to eat warm food off of plastic plates.
They gave us points rather than a discount on our rate. We won't use the points because we won't do that again!
