I normally stay at another hotel in the area when I am in Oak Brook for business. This hotel is older and needs updating but what it lacks in decor it makes up for in being very, very clean. The carpet is worn but clean and I saw the housekeepers using a carpet cleaner several different times during my stay.
As a business traveler I want 5 things: a clean room, a safe place to park my car, a good bed, free Wi-Fi and complimentary breakfast. The hotel had all 5. The bed linens were sparkling white. The bathroom was very, very clean. The parking lot was well lit and I felt safe enough to enter and exit the hotel after dark.
The staff were friendly and efficient and helpful with letting me borrow a stapler and a few office supplies. The little desk next to the entry door is not really a business center but it was sufficient for my needs.
The free breakfast was average but the staff did keep it stocked even during the height of guest traffic. I also liked the small separate room that was available for breakfast seating. It was just enough space to have brief meeting with co-workers before starting our day.
The pool was very clean and my room overlooked the pool. I could hear guest noise while they used the pool, but when the pool closed I was able to enjoy a good night's rest.
I will definitely stay here again. It's far more reasonable and cleaner than where I normally stay while in Oak Brook.
