We could only stay two nights, which was definitely too few. In a nutshell: Stunning room (Jimmy Stewart). Amazing bath. Delicious breakfast. Friendly innkeeper. Comfortable great room for relaxing.

We had planned to go out to the theatre but decided to cocoon in our beautiful room in front of the fire instead.

Loved it. I'd definitely come back if plans brought me near Oak Park again.

I can't go on enough about the beauty of the Harvey House B&B. We always stay at B&Bs while traveling and have stayed in over a hundred but I can't recall one as perfectly decorated at the Harvey House. Also every amenity was available including an open kitchen with snacks and beverages. Beth is an excellent cook and along with Leeann served us incredible breakfasts the two days we were there. The location was great to explore Oak Park and the Frank Lloyld Wright buildings. I agree with the last review that the noise from the train was extremely annoying but we were lucky that our room had an A/C unit that helped create white noise to dull the train noise. The train noise is why I am not giving this B&B a excellent rating but Beth and staff make up for it and I would stay here again!

Just spent three nights at the Harvey House so as to fully explore the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings in the area. It was easier to stay local than to train out from Chicago each day. Oak Park and adjoining River Forest are lovely "villages" and while researching accommodation, Harvey House looked the best option in which to stay.

We booked the Jimmy Stewart suite which was palatial and very comfortable. I didn't think they made beds that large! And it was very comfortable, nicely furnished and spotless and well serviced with flat screen cable TV, music centre, ipod docking station etc etc. The bathroom was also palatial with every amenity you could possibly want including a drinks cooler.

Beth, the innkeeper was a very personable character and always on hand when we needed something but never intrusive. She is also a gourmet cook and passionate about food. Our three sumptuous breakfasts bare witness to that. If anything, there was too much to eat! I believe there were a few other guests there but we always felt we were the sole guests.

On-site parking was available and we were in easy walking distance to all the attractions we came to see and also to most of the local restaurants.

However, despite all this, the very close proximity to a busy main line elevated rail track heading west out of Chicago did not promote restful sleep despite the gorgeous bed and complimentary foam ear plugs provided. The weather was quite warm and the bedroom was also very warm and with no a/c that we could see, an open window was essential which did not help the noise situation. If you are a light sleeper this might not be an ideal set up. However, we would still recommend this B&B and a visit to Oak Park

This place was CLEAN, just the right size, and exceeded my expectations about what a B&B could be. The staff was very kind, immediately responsive, and made me want to stay 6 weeks.

I took my wife and in my opinion we had the best time since our honeymoon. Highly recommend it and I will stay again if I have the chance.

Parking is lousy no thanks to the city of Oak Park... but we loved it and its overall proximity to Frank Lloyd Wright's studio and home.
