“Added to my list as the one in Chicago Suburb area.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Stayed only one night when picking up family in Ohare airport on hot summer day. At least to my own criteria, I can tell myself that just found the one that I can confidently stay in Chicago suburb area. Hotel itself is located in the middle of nicely shaded quite campus area, which I enjoyed the most.

Room is well cleaned and prepared, bathroom is clean and shower has plenty of pressure and hot, which any decent hotels are supposed to have but very difficult to find these days for whatever reason. Not a fancy one but I wouldn't trade this one with any fancy noisy stained non-functioning 4 star hotels that I previously stayed in other Chicago area.

Haven't had a chance to experience any food in the hotel due to my own urgent return schedule, but I will try next time.

One may find an issue for No free internet and a little far parking lot, but those are at the bottom of my criteria. It is actually nice walk to and from parking lot to campus and hotel etc.

“Outside Chicago but nice quiet place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

nice lounge, nice rooms.
they let us checked out late (3-ish) without fee.
but no bathtub and there were constructions going on (25th Nov).
good place to stay if you have a car.

From the woodsey setting and the quiet peaceful rooms you'd never know there was a frenzy of shopping and restaurants w/in a few miles of this destination hotel not that you'd want to leave once you check in!

“Huge hotel with great gym and pool.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The wedding was in the hotel in one of the conference rooms, so right off the bat, it was a convienient location. The hotel is nicely decorated and the arcitecture is beautiful. The gym was amazing. Most hotel gyms have a few treadmills, and some weights. This gym had everything you could find in a members only gym. The pool was large and fun to swim in minus the children's swim classes on weekends. They were very loud and screaming most of the time. The hotel is HUGE so you can easily get lost. We had my grandmother with us in a wheelchair and we were the very last room in the hotel so you can understand how the size of the hotel was quite bothersome. All in all it was a great stay. The actual McDonalds campus is gorgeous. Lakes and trees and wooded areas make it a great scene.

Room Tip: Ask to be close to the elevators or else you could be VERY far and have a LONG walk to get to them.

“Very Good Business Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed at the Lodge on Business in late October. The Self Check In kiosk with automatic room key was a nice suprise. Room service was prompt and I ate one day at the "Water's Edge" restaruant and it was very good.
Service at the hotel was outstanding, but my room did have some noticable flaws. First, the doorway is not gapped, so I did hear a lot of noise early in the morning from traffic walking by. Next, the linen was dated, a fuzzy poly blanket with top sheet(no duvet) and there were no glass cups in the room.
The pool area and the grounds are excellent, but the rooms need some upgrading.

For the price, I would reccomend a stay at the lodge

Room Tip: the Hotel halls split off from the Elevators in 2 directions, if your room is close to the elevators...
