“Huge hotel with great gym and pool.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The wedding was in the hotel in one of the conference rooms, so right off the bat, it was a convienient location. The hotel is nicely decorated and the arcitecture is beautiful. The gym was amazing. Most hotel gyms have a few treadmills, and some weights. This gym had everything you could find in a members only gym. The pool was large and fun to swim in minus the children's swim classes on weekends. They were very loud and screaming most of the time. The hotel is HUGE so you can easily get lost. We had my grandmother with us in a wheelchair and we were the very last room in the hotel so you can understand how the size of the hotel was quite bothersome. All in all it was a great stay. The actual McDonalds campus is gorgeous. Lakes and trees and wooded areas make it a great scene.

Room Tip: Ask to be close to the elevators or else you could be VERY far and have a LONG walk to get to them.

“Very Good Business Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed at the Lodge on Business in late October. The Self Check In kiosk with automatic room key was a nice suprise. Room service was prompt and I ate one day at the "Water's Edge" restaruant and it was very good.
Service at the hotel was outstanding, but my room did have some noticable flaws. First, the doorway is not gapped, so I did hear a lot of noise early in the morning from traffic walking by. Next, the linen was dated, a fuzzy poly blanket with top sheet(no duvet) and there were no glass cups in the room.
The pool area and the grounds are excellent, but the rooms need some upgrading.

For the price, I would reccomend a stay at the lodge

Room Tip: the Hotel halls split off from the Elevators in 2 directions, if your room is close to the elevators...

“Great deal at this beautiful urban hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

A great deal on Priceline got us into this 4 star hotel. Loved the water views and the Frank Lloyd Wright inspired open spaces and lodge interior. Even our room was comfortable and quiet with still had a view. One of the quietest hotel rooms I've been in for a long time. My husband enjoyed the 4 mile jogging path circling the campus and the ponds. We've already signed up to return for another stay when we visit our son at Wheaton College, about 20 minutes away from this hotel during non rush hours.
Agreed about the directions. Our GPS took us to the second entrance, which was closed late in the evening when we arrived. You go in the guard house entrance and take two left turns to reach the interior of this space. Like Prairie school designs, this property is designed to blend the exterior and interior space---which does mean no giant neon directional sign pointing to the entrance for visitors. Once you are inside, you also have that nice nature view to enjoy.

Room Tip: Try priceline. Curious about the upgrade to the Hyatt allergy free rooms here too. It appeared to h...

“Best Staff worst Hyatt room EVER!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I stayed at this location 10/19-10/21. The staff was wonderful and I have nothing bad to say about them. The room however was very noisy,a piece of the carpet was torn causing me to trip on it, the bathroom paint was chipping. During my two weeks in Chicago I stayed at 3 hotels and this was by far the best with staff. The pool area was very impressive.

Room Tip: check your room for chipping paint!

“Very nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Pros: Not costy at all. The service is fantastic. Amazing food. The hotel decorations are pretty artistic.
Cons: Not easy to find the entrance even though we had a GPS with us.
