We had our daughter's bridal shower in a beautiful room on the 9th floor of this hotel. The food was excellent, and the entire staff was very accommodating. We had lots of family and friends stay there for the weekend, and not only were the rooms spotless with comfortable beds, but anything we requested of the staff was quickly provided, and with smiles on their faces! We have another daughter who has 3 month old twins, and Vicki, an employee at the front desk, showed us rooms that had a connecting door so we could be close to the babies and help out when needed...and she got our approval before moving us there. They were just very congenial and wanted to make sure we were happy. Elevators were frequent and we never waited more than a few seconds for one, although the hotel was packed on Saturday night. In addition to the great hotel service, the location is wonderful too! Oak Brook Shopping Center is a few steps away, as are many good restaurants...you have your choice of eateries. We would definitely stay here again!

I spent over three months at this hotel during the work week during spring and summer, 2010.
The staff are outstanding, service oriented, and go out of their way to recognize each guest. The rooms are good, very clean, and quiet. The restaurant is excellent (both food and service) though the local area provides numerous alternatives such as Cheesecake Factory (100 feet from the hotel) as well as numerous other choices. The lounge is a bit small but again the staff are outstanding and they do offer light to medium food for free most weekday evenings. The hotel does a fairly brisk conference business but it never overwhelmed the place. There is a nice outdoor pool and a good indoor workout facility.
About the only drawback is the hotel is a bit aged and shows a small amount of wear and tear. Overall, the value was great. The experience was excellent. I would go back and would give it a very high recommendation.

Once you get past the strange architecture (read: ugliness) of the exterior of the hotel, the hotel grows on you. The hotel shares a parking lot with the Oak Brook Mall, and so you are within a minute walk to a variety of Chicago restaurants that have satellite "branches" in Oak Brook. The hotel has an outdoor pool, which I am not sure how much a draw it would be outside of the summer months.
If you are in Oak Brook, it's worth a try ...

We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Oak Brook, IL for two nights. Our niece had her wedding reception at the hotel. Everything was top notch. The rooms were lovely. When we booked the room (block reserved for the wedding) the central reservation told us that there were only double beds available. However upon arrival we had queen beds with beautiful, comfortable pillows and other room amenities. The staff was super. Our daughter who flew into Chicago got lost on the way to the hotel and the staff helped us get her directions to find the place. When she arrived they were exceptionally nice to her.

The wedding reception was also lovely. If anyone is looking for a place to have their reception I would highly recommend the Renaissance. The reception was on the 9th floor which has floor to ceiling windows that provide an awesome view. Everything is first class. The food was delicious, the staff was efficient and friendly.
