This place isn't a Marriott, but it's not a Super 8 either. After looking at the web site for the motel I knew not to expect updates, so I wasn't surprised to find the polyester flowered bedspreads with some worn spots on them. Our room DID smell like they hadn't cleaned all the past cigarette smoke smell out of it (the upside to that is that the windows in the rooms open, so we opened ours for some fresh air).
I won't venture to guess when the last time the mattresses were replaced, but despite that, I slept like a rock.
The layout of the bathroom was weird (the light switch was behind the door), but the shower had great water pressure and stayed hot, and the towels didn't feel like sandpaper, as they are likely to feel at most every other motel with the same rating. Another thing I was impressed with was that there were ample towels and wash cloths in the room (this is NOT something I regularly find in motels that are similarly rated).
The people at the front desk were nice and helpful.
Breakfast was what you would expect: waffles (make yourself), french toast and bagels, toast, sausage, biscuits, cold cereals, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, juices, coffee. What stood out was that the hard-boiled eggs were fresh. They weren't already peeled, and they didn't feel or taste like plastic.
If you're looking to be pampered and stay in a completely updated place, this is not your place, but if you're looking for a clean, budget-friendly place to stay, you'd probably be happy here.
