“Don't stay here unless you enjoy wasting your money....”

This hotel was located in an out of the way spot behind an old bowling alley which is closed and on a small road which is full of chuck holes. The only good thing I can state is the free breakfast was okay. The room was dirty and smelled. The beds were old, worn out and made your back hurt. The pillows were lumpy and useless. The sheets on the bed were torn. The bathroom was as dirty as the room. Furthermore, the toilet in the bathroom wasn't securely bolted to the floor and moved every time you sat on it. I found bugs in the room and felt like I had to leave the lights on at night to make sure I could avoid bugs coming out in the dark in the room. The best thing that could happen is this place closes down soon. I suggest you stay anywhere but here, if you can.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms in this place.

“Not what we expected, no true "suites"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Our family of 5 booked a 2-Queen "Suite" online. We arrived to find ourselves put into just a standard room crowded with 2 queen beds, a pull-out couch, and a microwave perched on top of a mini fridge in the corner. It was called a suite, we were told, because of the pull-out, microwave and fridge. Also, the sink part of the bathroom was visible from the rest of the room, with the toilet and shower the only part separate. It was clean I guess, but didn't feel like it with outdated furniture and bedspreads.

After almost deciding to leave, the (one and only) person at the desk said she could offer us a King Suite instead for the same price. That room was more updated, and more like a suite with a completely separate bathroom, additional small sink with built-in micro. and fridge, couch and table. The bed felt newer and bedding was nice. Only issue is that the bed was not in a separate room, but only divided by a 4 ft. or so wall.

Pool was small and food was only okay. We chose this hotel for the price, while visiting family, but will probably choose to spend more for another hotel next time. If you're not very picky and just need a place to sleep, especially for one or two people, this might be worth the price.

“Will stay again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

As another guest implied this is not a Doubletree. Even so comparing it to similar hotels, Baymont Inn (never saw a suite) is comfortable and reasonable. (I booked from the Baymont Inns website and got a discounted rate. This was the first good thing.) Baymont Inn is an average hotel, but I experienced nothing that would cause me not to stay again. The room was cleaned every day (and I left out at different times of the day during my stay) without anyone knocking on the day asking me if I wanted service. This was a given. The only time I smelled smoke was outside of the building...and even this was limited. As for the aroma of the hotel itself and the rooms...nothing to make me gag...and nothing that was unbearable. (It wasn't a "after a summer's rain scent", but it was nowhere near a cow's pasture either. Getting on the elevator was interesting...especially after the construction/utility workers cleaned up! LOL) The water pressure was great, albeit, it did take the hot water a little longer to warm, but when it did, it was hot! (I do not count this as a negative; just a statement of fact.) The continental breakfast consisted of French toast, bagels, wheat toast, cereal, waffles, fruit, saugage and biscuits, juices, milk, tea, and coffee. There may have been a couple of other items, but this is basically it. The only thing negative I will say is that it would have been nice to have scrambled eggs, but I resolved this issue with the French toast! LOL Coffee was available throughout the day, and the microwave was too. (I like my coffee steaming. LOL) The hotel staff was friendly and exhibited excellent customer service. The pool is inside, which was nice for those who used it, but I'm glad I stayed on the 3rd floor. :-) Baymont Inn is conveniently located right off of the I-88; and yes, it was a little cumbersome getting to it because it is located on the service road not the main street, but my visit was a multi-day visit so I quickly got accustomed to "the entrance". However, better signage may help with this issue.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and will stay again. Baymont Inn & Suites in North Aurora did for me what I needed it to do: provide a reasonably priced accommodation that was conveniently located to where I needed to be, and provided a free breakfast! LOL Other restaurants and fast food places are within a short driving distance. OH...and the Chicago Premium Outlet is less than 2(?) miles away. (From the southern USA: think Tanger Outlet). Ya gotta love it! :-)

“I thought it was very comfortable.”

We just stayed there overnight on the Thursday before Easter. We planned to go to the outlet mall the next morning.

I agree that it is a little hard to find. Just put your GPS on. It is right next to the exit ramp when you come off (I think we were coming from the west or south) the interstate.

The room was clean. King bed was comfy. Breakfast was good. Saw the pool but did not go in since there were children in there and it looked a little crowded.

Customer service was very friendly.

Now when we went out for dinner we had to go through a empty lot. I didn't think the area looked scary at all. Just deserted.

I would return again.

Room Tip: Comfy bed

“Keep Driving”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2010

The hotel was basic as expected, but it also had a few glitches.
We drove around the block a few times to try and find the entrance in the dark. There was no sign from the highway and from the toll road it was difficult to find the main entrance.
Our room was on the ground level and smelled of mold and smoke, we realized this was coming from the carpet. The sheets had cigarette burns and only 1 out of the 2 exercise machines was in working order.
The room was tidy and the service was fine, but I felt uncomfortable and would not recommend this hotel.
