me and my husband has stayed at the signature inn several times, we usually stay on weekends because we go to visit my daughter who is in college at ISU. We have had a problem everytime we have stayed, usually the front desk associate will handle the problem, but on too many occasions i will ask to see a manager and THERE IS NEVER ONE AVAILABLE! I have also left messages at the front desk for the manager to call me and they never bother to do so. They will no longer get any of business.

I booked the room for 34 bucks on Hotwire. They call it a 2 1/2 star hotel, which is pushing it. The rooms are clean-ish and very basic, but you do get a little fridge/freezer, which is nice. The bed was find and the pillows were a-ok.

There were no problems with the front desk staff, the heater and the shower and that's really all I concerned myself with. My non-smoking room smelled a little like stale smoke, but with it being an older hotel, I wasn't shocked.

The exercise room sucks. The treadmill is broken, so there's only a step machine and a big weight center. Would be nice, if they're going to have an exercise room, to put something in there a little lower impact.

Maybe if I had spent 80 bucks on the room I would have been a little more critical, but it suited me just fine.

The place smells of dogs and smokers, had to change rooms. 2nd room was not well cleaned, dirty shower and bathroom floor need mopping. Surly desk staff on room change, just a lousy motel!

I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. I paid 200 dollars for two nights, and was denied ANY extra pillows by the front desk. The furniture was outdated and smelly and many of the appliances did not work. The vending machine AND ice machine was broken, and it appeared they had been that way for quite some time. No cleaning crew ever came by! It was GROSS! 200 dollars for that? Very disappointing.
