we got in, discovered that because we had indicated 1 bed by accident and not 2, the price would go up by 20.00 night. the desk clerk was ok, but firm and unbending. no possibly of a roll away. neither made me happy. this place used to be some kind of pretty nice hotel that was taken over by super 8. a bit too far from chicago for my taste. plus we didn't save much. the room was small, framed picture was broken, a couple of outlets didn't work. looked out on the roof of the post office next to it. seeing a cheap empty wine bottle on the roof made me wonder if we could have transient neighbors durng the night. just wondered! room was clean but old. the Best part was getting pizza delivered from Sarpinos- twice. could be the best pizza i have ever had. The pool? well, it is there, but filled in and landscaped. quite a thing to see. you can see the edge of the pool, and then grass inside. there wasn't much in the way of breakfast. but i am ok with a toasted bagel and cream cheese, so I had two of those. the coffee is one of those select-a-coffee things- moca, black, cappuccino. it was funny! had to get one black and one cappuccino an mix them to get it more or less how i like.. was a bit worried about the locale, between postoffice and a car dealership, but my logic was that with a lot full of audis and bmws and mercedes next door, my car was probably safe!
