We made two reservations this month to the same hotel at two different dates. First my parents stayed at this hotel and a week after that we four stayed there.

We had the most dictotarial front desk person when we checked in. It was hardly 6pm and when we asked to have a room close to entrance he just abruptly say no. No greetings or sorry or any explanation. He was very rude in general as well, and loud. We asked him about a place in chicago where we needed to go the next day, he did not bother to search for it, he just said he dont know. There were no other cusotmers or queue, but he was still very abrupt about it. It's like he just didnt want to talk to us and wanted to get rid of us as fast as possible. That's not the kind of begining you want to your trip to another city.

But when we came back late at night, my sons computer couldnt connect to internet, the other fornt desk guy asked us to bring the laptop there, and he fixed it. He was very nice and helpful about it all. Again, late at same night when our shower was stuck, we called him, even in the middle of the night, he came with tools and fixed the shower, it took him 15-20 minutes in middle of the night but he did it and he was still very apologatic about it. Next morning when we asked about our destination, this guy just opened his computer and found out all the details we needed. It was pleasant environment in morning, we were well greeted off and during breakfast all customers and us too had good chat about chicago with front desk guy, he was jolly in nature.

We ourselves did not have any breakfast issues as such, but when my parents stayed alone last week, he said that at 7:20am in morning when he asked for more milk, the front desk guy said they are out of it. Then he even took the cereal dispenser off the breakfast table, they were even out of cream-cheese. So all they had that day on breakfast was bread and juice. That was upsetting.

My mom, when she called for some extra towels in early morning and explained that she cant walk because of her knee pain and dad is in the shower; the front desk guy delivered towels to the room, that was nice.

Rooms were nice and clean. There were not much noice or other issues. No pool or gym room though.

Overall good place and location to stay other than variety of behavior in staff.

Front desk was very unprofessional - was picking his nose while he was checking us in!
His staffs were shouting in foreign language all the time outside our room. Front desk will try not to answer any question about city transportation. Breakfast was poor and almost always missing supplies and food.
Upon asking front desk about missing supply - front desk person was very rude and did not help.
Stay away from this hotel at all cost and I am surprised about previous good reviews from other tripadvisor fellows.

We have reserved a Hotel Super 8 in Morton Grove near Chicago for 5 nights. At the time of check-in, the front reception desk was not friendly. The staff made no effort to answer a few questions (sighing and making noises clearing their throat as if to spit). Certain mornings around 7am, the employee at the front desk was sleeping while breakfast tables were dirty and the garbage cans full. The food and supplies (toast, chocolate, napkins, etc.) were never completely available because of either not enough stock or poor staff motivation. We were asked to limit our requests for clean towels. We had to insist 3 times during 48 hours to obtain a refrigerator because no staff wanted to be bothered with the request. We complained but this situation apparently seemed normal to the staff and no one presented their excuses. In conclusion, this Super 8 does not respect their guests and, therefore, one must not expect any service nor politeness from the staff. We definitely do NOT recommend at all this hotel !

Location is just North of Chicago and it's a good choice if you want to save some money by staying outside of the city. It's just a couple blocks off 94 which helps, and there are a couple bars and restaurants within a couple blocks. It's really hard to stay in the city for less than $65, sometimes parking can set you back that much, so this is a good option if you want to enjoy Chicago on a budget.

Unlike some Super 8s, this is more of a hotel than a motel - the doors to the rooms are internal - down hallways, not facing the outdoors. It seems it was probably a Days Inn or something before. The lobby is kinda nice, overlooking a small courtyard with a sad pool that has been filled in and now houses a patch of grass with a single small tree in the middle.

My room was spacious and comfortable. It was a little ramshackle - some spots that were primed but not painted, little eyesores like that, but nothing major like nasty mold or bugs. There was fridge and the free wifi worked well. It was clean, big and comfortable.

The breakfast bar was nothing to write home about. Coffe, juice, bagels and muffins. My key didn't work when I returned to my room, balancing handfulls of coffee and bagels as I fumbled with it. Parking is an enclosed lot out back that seemed pretty safe. The secadas were deafening back there, and a giant one was at the back door to greet us.

So overall this was a decent place to stay - kinda no-frills, but a notch above your average Super 8.
