My husband and I made reservations at the Baymont Inn, in Morton Illinois in Feb. We stayed only one night. We were suspto stay three nights but we had a family emergency and had to leave the next day. We reserved the room on our credit card and payed cash for the room. The card was charged twice. And we have only received one charge back in the amount of 106.00. The other 106.00 has not been received. I have tried to talk to the hotel and each time they tell me it is my banks issue. I have called my bank and they say that the hotel has not released the hold on our credit card. We only stayed one night and I paid for that in cash. We are not rich people and can not afford to loose one hundred dollars. We stayed to try to have a good weekend for our 6 year anniversary and have had nothing but problems. What an anniversary to remember, huh? On top the the money issue the room we stayed in was dirty. The huge tub that we paid for have long black hairs inside of it and the room stunk like smoke. It was a non smoking room! I was quite upset.. Beware if u decide to stay there..

My husband, my 2 young kids, our dog, & I decided to get a hotel room for New Years Eve so the kids could swim & we could ring in the New Year as a family. I like this hotel since we were able to bring the family pet & the kids really enjoyed swimming in their pool. The establishment seemed very nice & clean until about 11:15pm when we decided to lay down, snack on some candy, & watch cartoons with the kids. My daughter (6yrs old) & I were in one bed & when I went to pull the sheets over us I looked down a found a blue pill in the bed. I was very upset & then thought that the sheets had not been cleaned. I took the pill out the the main desk & to let him know what happened. I was assured that the sheets has been cleaned then I was treated like I had been the one that put the pill there. I was also told that he would give me 50% of my money back if I left right then. MInd you it was now 11:30pm @ night on New Year's Eve & I was not going to leave & risk getting hit by a drunk driver. We then went back to our room & I went back out to tell the manager that I did not want any money back but I just wanted him to pass the word along to cleaners that this had happened so it would not happen again. He then made me feel like I was the one that planted it there because there is no way this could have happened. I asked him why I would do that when I am telling him that I don't want a discount or any money refunded just an apology & a reassurance that he would pass the word along that this happened to his employees so it would not happen again. After returning to the room & pretty upset he did end up coming to the room and apologizing which I just wanted from the beginning. I have never wrote a review before but I wanted to make sure the word got out that this happened & hopefully it never happens again. I know this could happen anywhere but I wish it was handled alot better especially in front of my kids. This New Years could have turned out to be something bad had the dog or my children ate this pill. Also a little FYI we looked up the pill......it had a W on one side and a 5 & 7 on the other. My husband said it was Zoloft?! I guess an anxiety pill. I do want to add that if that incident had not happened the night would have been great!

Stayed here because Illinois State University hotels were full and Baymont Inn was closest being half-an-hour away with good reviews. Was a bit hesitant because not familiar with Morton, IL nor if the hotel would be like other reviews say. To my relief, the interchange at Morton has gas stations, restaurants, and hotels, etc. We found The Baymont to be just like the good reviews say and better more. The staff welcomed us late at night, the room was very-clean, and a non-smoking room was received as requested, and the beds were very, very soft and comforting. We enjoyed our stay ! We could not take advantage of the free breakfast, but we're sure it was good, as we found the rest of the hotel. Our stay there was well worth It was well the half-hour drive since Illinois State University hotels were full. ***** (4) out of ***** (5)

Had to stay overnight in Morton for a work assignment the next day, and selected this property based on Trip Advisor reviews. Got a very good price with AAA. Check-in was quick and efficient, room was very well appointed with flat screen TV, comfortable bed, and quiet. Only complaint was the low water pressure, but may be due to the fact I was placed in a handicapped accessible room (did not request this, by the way) and it may have had a special portable shower head apparatus. Breakfast offerings were well above average for this class of motel, and I could tell as I checked out that replenishment occurs throughout the breakfast hours of operation. Fitness center was very nice also. Doubt I will have the occasion to return, but I would hope ownership continues this level of guest care.
