We had a perfectly fine stay at this hotel. The only reason I didn't give it more stars is that it's not quite "there" yet. When we first walked in, there was a sign on the lobby door "excusing their mess," as they were renovating the front desk area. The desk was temporarily just a table near the door, with laptops and phones for the staff... and all kinds of paperwork strewn all over. I wasn't too bothered, though, because I understand they are in the midst of a renovation. I caught of glimpse of the nearly-finished new front desk, and it will be quite modern and clean-looking when finished.
Our room was on the third floor, and upon getting off the elevator, we were taken aback by how hot and stuffy the hallway was. Good lord. Our room, which had the air conditioning turned off, was nearly as warm as the hallway. Thankfully the air kicked in quickly and cooled off the room. The hallway stayed stifling hot the whole time we were there. The room was fine, with updated linens, furniture and decor to match what I assume is going on in the lobby. It had a fridge and small coffee pot, as well as what they called a "wet bar" - a tiny sink. Not that I would've used it, but when I hear "wet bar" I assume little bottles of liquor and snacks. Not a big deal, but just a little odd. The bathroom was fine and very clean, but could be updated to match the rest of the room (just looked a little 80's - cheap hollow-core door, the closet door was just a cheapy folding mirror door). The bed was extremely comfortable, and everything was impeccably clean.
Breakfast was down in the attached restaurant bar area, and left something to be desired. Just very sparse, with basic juice, milk, yogurt, cereal and a few (not so tasty) hot options like sausage and eggs. I've had way better.
Swam in the pool for a little while, it was very warm, almost bath water. It was fine for the 2 of us that were in there, but I could see it getting very crowded with more than 10 or so people in there.
We were there for a wedding at the conference center, which was beautiful. The staff, both in the wedding and of the hotel itself were very friendly and accomodating. We would have no problem staying here again, but would recommend more options for breakfast, and would love to see what the place looks like after renovations.
