“An absolute disgrace - should have slept in the terminal”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2007

This has to be a viable candidate for the worst hotel in the US. Arrived here after midnight in a terrible storm after getting stuck at O'Hare with thousands of others because of weather. Consequently, no hotel rooms around and this was one of the few hotels with space. I soon found out why they still had vacancies.

Dirty bed linens, stained mattresses, dirty carpets, peeling wallpaper, cracked masonry, barely-functioning showers, doors that looked like they had been forced around the locks. This hotel has it all and is an unpleasant and scary place. Avoid at all costs and stay in the terminal if this poor excuse for a hotel is the only option.

“Scariest Place I have ever been”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2007

I can not believe that Days Inn doesn't condem the place to protect their name. Rooms looked to be in the condition of an abandoned home, nothing was safe and when I told the front desk that there were problems, she asked if I would like to check out.

The breakfast did include waffles....the frozen kind out of a box that after they were thawed and sitting out for 3 hours they put back into the box and into the freezer.

My safe was not even bolted to anything, just laying on the floor. My shower had no pressure if hot water, only cold. I had a business associate staying there as well and I had to kick the door multiple times in order for the regular door latch to release in order for her to get out of her room. She called the front desk but after 10 minutes they still had not come to her room so she called me.

What a dump!

Travel Advantage also said they were giving me the best rate, when complaining about my room the person took a call and quoted rates over the phone that were $30.00 lower than what I was paying, I asked how that can be and the lady said she would give me $10.00 off the room. TA was also going to give me a $30 rebate for my stay and today when I cancelled my trial membership, they informed me that I will not get the rebate now.

“Nasty Nasty Nasty!”

I was put in this hotel by American Airlines at 11:00 at night. I have never been so scared in my life. The place had a stinch unlike any other and needs to be torn down. They also charged me an additional $10 to have a non-smoking room and called it an upgrade fee. The airport chair would have been an upgrade. After I was told the shuttle could not take me back the airport I went to my room with no other options and put towels on everything! to lay down. I slept for two or so hours with both locks and a chair in front of the door. Every review you are reading other than mine is true. This was the most frightening thing I have ever been through in my life do not stay there!

“It is really a dump!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2007

This hotel is horrible!!
We actually only booked it because the good rates we got for the hotel we were in, didn't apply for that day, and we needed a hotel close to the airport for our last day in Chicago.
It started bad, checking in was an awful experience. The man who I spoke to, was rude, unpolite and not willing to help at all. I tried to ignore this, it was my last day in Chicago anyways, we only needed a place to sleep.
The room was a dump!! really dirty and unhygienic. The maintenace of that place is zero.
Well, sometimes is worth to pay a little bit more to avoid this type of stuff.

please avoid, lets start with the airport shuttle(a joke)you phone and they tell you on the hour every hour at zone 3,what they do not tell you to do is to look for the Super8 van from the same road it serves both motels, they suppose to be renovating the place but after finding all the creepy-crawlies in the bathroom the place needs pulling down and concreting over, i just wish i had read the other reviews.
