We stayed only three nights. Let me get the "poor" review out of the way:: We had no shampoo or conditioner in the room when we arrived. We asked for some, but never received it, and had to take it from our family in the room next to us when we showered the next day. The rooms did not get cleaned prior to noon, and, on the second day, did not get cleaned until 2pm. The hotel was not busy at all, so I find it unacceptable they could not get the rooms cleaned while we were out of them the first half of the day. We asked the maid to give us clean sheets the last day/night, but she did not do so. The lobby floors were not kept clean. Free wi-fi is available in the lobby only, and is $9.95/day if you want it in your room. I could not even access the internet on my droid 4G phone in the bedroom, as it appeared jammed unless I was standing at the window. The hot tub had a dirty scum ring around the top. For the price, I don't think any of this is acceptable. But, we were staying there at a very discounted rate, so, like a Super 8, it was a nice pace to stay. All that being said, here are the good things:: it is a quiet place to stay, and the bed was very comfortable. There are two restaurants in the hotel, and the food is quite good. Otherwise, there are quite a number of restaurants very near by to choose from. The pool area (other than the dirty scum ring on the hot tub) was nice. Clean towels were available, my husband enjoyed the sauna, and the pool temperature was perfect. There is an attached covered garage which makes parking convenient. The lobby and front desk staff are extremely nice. We did not use the workout room while there, but it looks nice, and hand towels are available as well as free ear buds if you need them. Overall, I would stay again, but only if I had another discounted rate.

We needed a hotel for only one night while we visited family in our old neighborhood, so booked this hotel "blind" (using Hotwire) but knew of it as it's only a few blocks from our old home. For the price we were able to pay, thought it was very, very nice. Visually appealing lobby, large room, extremely clean, good "heavenly" bed and great bathroom. From previous reviews, I thought to ask for a corner room. The gentleman at the reception desk, who suggested that I join Starwood Preferred Guests program - which I did - was able to meet this request. That was the only not great part of this stay, though ... while it was a corner room, it was only on the 6th floor. Seeing as there is an attached 5 level garage .... yeah, we overlooked the garage roof. I was a bit surprised, as I assumed that signing up a brand new member of the SPG program, they would want to put their best foot forward, so to speak, and impress us. The view did NOT impress! Other than that, though, a very nice stay.

I was not really impressed with this Starwood property fohr the simple fact the parking lot to the hotel and the parking lot to Yorktown Center is connected. The rooms are your typical hotel rooms, but nothing to write home about. There is no lounge for Gold or Platinum Starwood guest. I think Starwood needs to do a facelift on this property.

Our first time in Illinois and stayed here for 3 nights/4days weekend.

Pros:
-Lobby is spacious and pleasantly designed. My son loves the cascading/water falls.

-Very friendly and accommodating staff. From the doorman to housekeeping. They are constantly all smiles and offers to help anytime. I had to have my bed sheets change in the middle of the night and Ainsha came in swiftly to do that without grumbling or a frown. She had to strip and change the entire beddings including the comforter. I noted while she was stripping the bed that they have a waterproof lining on the bed, a PLUS. I actually felt really bad for Ainsha but she was understanding and empathetic. She also offered to bring up apple juice for my 21 month old son, who was the culprit of the mess. She was actually surprise when my lil son ran towards her as she was leaving our room and handed her her tip, which she richly deserve.

-Location of this hotel is very convenient; within walking distance to Target and Yorktown mall. If you don't feel up to walking, they have FREE shuttle service. The shuttle bus will also take you to the Lombard train station; will take you 45 minutes train ride to downtown Chicago. There's also 2 restaurants on the first floor - Holy Mackerel and Harry Caray's Steakhouse. Very convenient.

-Our king size room was very clean; smells clean/feels clean. It's also very quiet. Good sound proofing. Bathroom was also well stocked, clean and spacious. I enjoyed the double showerheads with strong water pressure. Very relaxing and therapeutic. Triple window curtains, great for sleeping in, as it stays dark in our room even at 9am! Bed was comfortable with goose down comforter and pillows. They have a fully stocked refridgerator in our room (complimentary water) but was given a separate refridgerator upon request for my sons milk, juices and fruits, et. al

-Room service was quick and yummy. Price reasonable. Got hungry late Sunday night and didn't feel like going anywhere. We ordered smoke salmon sandwich, chicken sandwich and flourless chocolate cake. The smoke salmon was really amazing. I found out that Holy Mackerel or Harry Carays are the ones who provide for the hotels room service. A big PLUS.

-This hotel is actually pet friendly. It seems like they even accomodate guest with large dogs. I have no problem with pets in hotels but this may present a problem to some esp. with allergy concerns, so make sure to request for a room or floor with no pets.

-Indoor olympic size pool!

Cons:
- My stay here was way too short :(

Note: Taxi from hotel to O'hare Intl. Airport is $38-$40. And a 10 miles taxi ride one way is estimated $25.00.
