Slightly off the interstate, set back in the woods is a wonderful environment, offering various amenities including a great Sunday brunch.

After spending our wedding night, and almost every anniversary at the Marriott Lincolnshire, we returned again this year for our 25th anniversary. Dinner at the King's Wharf with our parents and children was made especially fun by our waiter Habib. Upon returning to our room we were met with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries complements of Sarah and the front desk staff!! How nice of her to remember my passing comment and to act upon it. Over the years we have found that the Marriott Lincolnshire goes above and beyond our expectations for a wonderful anniversary.

I want to give a heartfelt Thank you to Michael C. The front desk supervisor. My family and I planned a White Christmas musical and brunch weekend to start our holiday season off special. It so happened there was a large convention of folks staying the same weekend. This particular group were high spirited shall we say. Our rooms originally were in very close proximity to this group and did not fit our needs seing we had my elderly mother with us. Michael recognized our desire to be in a quieter area of the hotel and accommodated us with adjoining rooms that were perfect. It was the Best holiday weekend ever!!! Thank you Michael C. From The j. I am tough on mediocre hotels and love great ones - see the JW Marriott review in Chicago for a great one. The Lincolnshire is old in so many ways it makes you laugh. First is the rooom furniture, carpet and layout. They said they did a rehab in 2010 but they must have bought old looking products when they did it. It could use a modern update as the look is 15-20 years old. As a specific example the bed is one of those old style soft sink into it and if you have back issues you hate it beds. The lobby is old as is the technology setup and pricing. The best part of this old story is the restaurants. So we went to the fancy one because we did not want to eat a lot of high chloresteral or fried foods in the main restaurant. As we are walking to the Kings Wharf for fresh fish we were literally following 4 people in wheel chairs and walkers. This seemed strange until we realized that this is a dinner theater hotel also. In this case they were doing White Chritsmas the musical and everyone was coming for the dinner specials before the show. I am not a snob but the core audience for the hotel is to be a B hotel. The rooms and the food are not bad but dissapointing. The hotel is also a golf course, a tennis academy, a theater, a small convention center and a business hotel all wrapped around a $220 a night rate - 50 miles from Chicago. The service is similiar in quality. When telling the waiter at the main restaurant we were interested in a light dinner and fresh fish he said this is the place. After sitting down the only fresh fish was Tilapia which is a horrible farmed fish. The other entrees were steaks, burgers meatloaf, spaghetti and sausage, fried chicken, Again this is not a bad place it is just old fashion, If I had a choice the Courtyard is 100 feet away about 1/3 less with better technology and more up to date.
