This hotel is in the northern suburbs of Chicago and is a fair haul from downtown. There are quite a few office parks in the area, which is what brought me there on business.

Despite the "suite" name, the room is not that much larger than some single hotel rooms. The decor is modern, with a lime green, turquoise and blue color scheme. There is a small room divider to separate the sitting area from the bed to give the illusion of more space. The room has a wet bar with a small fridge and microwave. The room has a flat screen TV with a selection of hi-def channels but the TV is positioned so that it is viewable from the bed and sofa but not work desk area. There is free wired and wireless Internet. I used the wired connection which offered good speed during my stay. One annoyance was that the room HVAC unit was right next to the bed and would blow directly on the bed - as in right in your face.

The hotel offers a free breakfast, which was pretty decent as free breakfasts go with some hot items and a waffle maker. There are several restaurants nearby for dinner including a steakhouse in the same parking lot, which was good but expensive.

Well, it was cheap. That isn't really a complaint -- my room rate here was a complete bargain, and I got what I expected for that room rate. My room was clean and had no problems, but it wasn't fancy or especially well-appointed. Service was polite but basic. Breakfast was free but not much. Overall, this place did what I expected it to -- gave me a place to crash after a late arrival for business on a Sunday night before an early Monday meeting.

If you were staying in this area for longer, or anticipated that you'd be spending much time in the room, I'd look at other options. This place isn't terrible, but the room (while pleasant enough in decor and clean) could use some work. A lot of the furniture and fixtures were cheap (i.e., cheap picture frame had peeling paint, desk was a little rickety, etc.). The bedding could use a serious upgrade.

So, overall, average -- not bad, not good.

It's a bit far from Chicago (about 20-30 minutes from downtown) but an easy drive, close to lots of restaurants and shopping.

Stayed here for a wedding in Nov. 2010. This is a good, solid property. The decor has been updated and our room had a very nice, modern feel to it. It was sectioned off in a cool way and made good use of the available space -- for example, the TV was placed halfway between the bed and the living area, so it was easily viewable from either. Check-in was incredibly fast; it took no more than 90 seconds for the front desk attendant to give us our key and get us on our way. The hot breakfast was good, though it did get a little crowded in the morning, but that's typical for larger hotels.

Simply put, the price was great for what we got. I'd definitely recommend it if you'll be staying in the northern suburbs.
