According to the Choice Hotels website this property is "newly renovated" and "All rooms are newly renovated...". The room we stayed in must have been skipped and by the comments from other guests at the front desk at checkout it wasn't the only one.
This appears to be a family run property with several of the family members handling houskeeping, maintenance, front desk, etc. The first thing my wife and I noticed upon entering the room was a film of dust on all the surfaces including the table, tv and window sill. The bath tub was developing mold and here were long dark hairs in the tub; the blanket under the comforter had several cigarette burns, the sheets had not been tucked so when I pulled back the top cover all the bedding came off; the sheets were so wrinkled it seemed they had not been changed (not sure if they were or not); near the window the carpet tack strips poked throguh the carpet causing my wife painful prickling when she stood by the window.
Unfortunately there was a significant language barrier with the front desk personnel and getting them to understand was very frustrating. I couldn't even get floss because they didn't know what I was talking about.
Needless to say we would not go back and I strongly suggest Choice takes a hard look at this property.

The desk clerk told us that the motel is being renovated. It sure needs it! When we checked in we were told that the whirlpool spa is working. After we got into our suits and went to the spa, the jets didn't work. Front desk clerk said the owner told her "it doesn't look like it's working, but it is!" HA! I know what a working spa looks like, and this one was not! Ladders into the pool were so rickety that I was afraid to use them. Cleanliness of the room was questionable. I think we should have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express down the street.
