Upon almost the very last minute this last Saturday afternoon my wife mentioned that she had not gone to see her sister in quite some time and could we go? Understand of course that no reservations had been made and her sister lives a hop more than two hundred twenty five miles down the road. Because of church committments we could not leave much before a quarter past six that evening. So I went to the computer and searched a motel in Lincoln. I had heard about Super 8 and thought that I would give it a try. I tried to reserve on line but I could not get the "submit" command to exercise. I blame that more on my computer "expertise" than on the program. Sometimes I even have trouble plugging in my electric razor which should give you an idea of my computer expertice. Finnally I called the 800 number and told the fellow on the other end of the line what I needed. I mentioned that I did not need three rooms although I had hit the submit button three times. He said that he would take care of it. I told him that we would not be at his door much before a quarter pas ten that evening. He assured me that that would be no problem either.
We arrived at just about the time that I had predicted and found our room filling our best expectations and since I am what some people call -- elderly -- I was especially pleased to find out that he had given me the AARP discount. I've been a member of that outfit for more years than I have fingers and a few toes. We found the room to be QUIET, clean and warm. I could have mistaken it for my own bed room.
The next morning I took my wife over to see her sister. We had breakifast together and then even some noon lunch before we typed in home on our Garmin and were on our way. Need I say that my wife was also quite pleased.
