This hotel is in a convenient location near the I-80/90/94 interchange with Torrence Ave. in Lansing, right by the Indiana/Illinois border. For people making long trips and need a stopover, this hotel is okay, but it's not one you should probably go seeking out because it is very much an average property that needs a little work.
The staff is very friendly and the parking lot is convenient.
The rooms are a bit smallish. I had a king and didn't have much extra room despite being a 'suite.' The suite just means you get a microwave and fridge, a half dividing wall and a chair with ottoman. There's a decent work desk with lots of plugs and the WiFi is free with a password from the front desk. The TV was medium sized with lots of channels but it was situated in a way that you can only watch it from the bed. If you are in the small sitting area with the chair, you can't see the TV because its on the same side of the room. The desk and chair should be flipped in these rooms.
The rooms dark furniture was suitable and didn't look overly worn. The windows were constantly fogged over and the room has just a slight musty smell but that went away when I cranked up the A/C. The room stayed a good temperature but the fan blower stays on all the time.
For being such a small room, the bathroom was very big comparatively. Plenty of room. The floor looked very new as did the vanity. However, the sink faucet and the shower faucet looked original and worn. They need replacement. The water pressure was slightly under what I'd expect. And, the toilet took a loooog time to flush and it barely flushed. The toilet had a slow leak sound, so I had to take the top off and unscrew the ball one notch to get it to shutoff properly. Bath amenities were average if not a little small (what budget hotel has big amenities these days anyway!)
The bed was average. Pillows were nice but the bed a little too uneven for my liking. It had hard spots. (I like a soft bed). The hotel has a pool that look decent by small with a hot tub. The free breakfast was very average and the breakfast room was way too small. Only like six seating spots. Good luck on a busy morning.
The rooms reflect a lot of hallway noise and your sleep is only as good as your fellow travelers. If you get unlucky and get to be on a floor with loud disrespectful people, (I had a loud arguing family in four or five rooms near mine), then you won't have a quiet night.
I've been in many hotels that were much nicer than this for the price but I've been in many much worse. So this property is very, very average and if you just need a quick respite off the highway, this would suffice.
