In spite of what some reviewers have said, we found this Motel 6 clean with clean but worn linens, the front desk staff pleasant and eager to help, and the room cleaning staff very professional and polite. A Motel 6 is not a Comfort Inn, but it is half the price so don't expect more than you are buying. We were there for 2 nights, one a Friday, and noise or safety were never an issue. I have stayed in hotels that cost 6 times as much that were noisier. (and yes, the hotel was fairly full both nights). It is not located on the magnificent mile, but it is a nice place to stay.

All these nasty reviews from years other than 2010 are probably accurate. But now it is fine. The mean ones from 2010 sound like people similar to my mother. Motel 6 isn't the ritz. What do you expect for 29.99 a night? There is not "bad" activity going on. The rooms are remodeled. They are always clean. My boyfriend lives in Joliet and I see him every other weekend. I always feel safe. I sleep well. We watch TV, get a little fast food, and sleep in. It's quiet. These people sound like when my mom visits a lake cottage in Michigan on a beach and complains and cries the second she walks through the door about "sand" or it being "dirty." It's a cottage!! For the price and location, it's fine to stay here.

Don't be stupid like me. If you see bullet holes in any part of the hotel, go, quickly! Drunken brawls, partying all night, yelling screaming and gang activity. The front desk has a tone like they will report you to the gang!

Don't stay here unless you are into partying with gang members, otherwise if you are, it just may be the best place for you to find new freinds.

Two calls to the front desk to complain about the party going on outside the room next door (drunken brawl, shouting, fighting, with children present no less), to no avail. Expressed my displeasure to the clerk in the morning and received an absolutely rude response. Room was shoddy; old plumbing, stains on the carpet (I refused to take off my shoes and walk on it). I slept in my clothes on top of a blanket I retrieved from my car. Thank goodness I had my own pillow. Positively disgusting environment. Should have walked out the minute I saw it, but it was late and I was exhausted. I'll drive past next time; everyone else should do the same.
