I stayed here for a conference I was attending in the next town over at the Marriott in Schaumburg. As an independent business person, I’m very cost-conscious and can whole-heartedly say that you can’t beat this hotel on price, value and quality, period.

Even though the conference had secured discounted room rates at the Marriott, the La Quinta in Hoffman Estates was significantly cheaper and offered more amenities.

As with all La Quintas, you get free breakfast and free internet with a large work desk. This particular La Quinta also had a super comfortable bed and a flat-panel TV. The rooms are quite large with one of the largest bathrooms I’ve seen in any hotel, period. The only downside is the ability to hear people having loud conversations in the hallway.

The room was generally well-maintained. The furnishings look like they’re recently updated, but the room itself wasn’t. Generally speaking, the experience redefined in my mind what I could get in a hotel for $59/night.

As for location, don’t think Hoffman Estates is a desolate town. It’s got a number of strip-malls with big box retailers nearby and the Woodfield Mall (third largest mall in America) is just one freeway exit down in Schaumburg. That also happens to be where the Schaumburg Convention Center and all the other major hotels are located.

As those old car commercial say, “drive a little, save a lot.” If you have a conference in Schaumburg and a rental car, you can save yourself some serious dough by picking this La Quinta in the next town over and walk away extremely satisfied.

Very much liked the hotel. Nothing fancy, which is what I wanted/needed. Close enough to downtown Chicago, but in a very nice area. Would definitely stay again. Very nice free continental breakfast included in rate. No parking fees. Only concern was it was a non-smoking room, but smelled like people had smoked in it.

We spent one night traveling between states. It was so worth it to just get past Chicago to this relaxing spot. Nicely appointed rooms, extra pillows, very clean. Very pleasant breakfast room with lots of healthy choices. The price was frankly unbelievable for the location and quality.

Booked this room thru a "pedia" service, definitely worth the $ we paid as rooms were clean and comfortable. If you are looking for plush, you might want to go on down the road as it was fairly basic, but defintiely comfortable for an overnite stay.
