“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

We had a king-bed room with a pull out sofa. The bedding for the sofa was not clean but a call to housekeeping got everything sorted out immediately (I mean we had housekeepers at our door making the bed in less than 5 minutes and this was after midnight. I was impressed.) The staff was responsive and friendly. Really no downside to this hotel. It's generally clean and well maintained.

“Clean, efficient and pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

Typical limited service tourist hotel. Good, varied breakfast selections (ours was no included in group rate). Property is well located, lots of parking, free shuttle bus to commuter train stops.
Hotel is clean and well maintained, but getting slightly tired. Would recommend to freinds

“Perfect for Ravinia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

We love to attend various events at the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, IL but live about 2 hours away. This time instead of driving the 2 hours to get home after the concert, we decided to stay overnight. This is the hotel we stayed at and we were pleasantly surprised.

The price was not exceptionally high which you would expect in this area. The room was very clean and had its own thermostat. The beds were VERY comfortable. The rooms were large, the TV was a big HDTV, and there was a nice sofa in the room. There was also a pretty pool and hot tub. The best feature for us though was the fact that the hotel provided a FREE round-trip shuttle to Ravinia. This saved us the parking charge AND the awful traffic that comes with attending the festival.

When you attend Ravinia you need to do it up right with chairs, tables, candles, plates, napkins, silverware and gourmet food. We had all the former and were thinking of purchasing the food at Ravinia; but when we checked out the hotel, we found out that we were less than 5 minutes away from a Trader Joe's. We got food there and the hotel shuttle took us and all our stuff to the festival. The shuttle picked us up outside the festival grounds so there was a bit of a walk; but compared to the mess with driving, it was fine with us. (An elderly person might have some trouble if on a walker or cane.)

We definitely will go back to this hotel in the future when we want to attend a Ravinia concert!

Room Tip: Our room was on the 3rd floor, away from any noises - it was very pleasant.

“Great base to see Chicago & botanical center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

My wife and I planned a "no car" getaway to Chicago for a weekend. It was a great experience. Hotels downtown Chicago were sold out or very expensive, so we looked for a hotel near mass transit (Metra) and Chicago's botanical center--my favorite part of Chicago. The hotel had a shuttle to pick us up and drop us off at the train station a mile away each day. Each person at the front desk was happy to accommodate this and helped in planning to make sure the shuttle was available when needed.

The facility itself is well kept. Our room was clean, the bed very comfortable, the room refrigerator kept our leftover Chicago deep dish pizza cold, and a microwave in the lobby with paper plates and forks made eating it later easy. The pool area was pleasant and clean. There is a Trader Joe's in a mall across the street that where we went for other heat and eat treats.

All in all, a very nice facility and very friendly, helpful staff.

“A great option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

After a difficult night in a nearby hotel they decamped to the Courtyard where they have stayed before. The hotel, full with other guests for several occasions were able to accommodate them with a senior rate and an early check-in in a handicapped accessible room. The room has recently refreshed although handicapped in this case means a bathtub that is not flat to the floor. The hotel lobby is lovely and comfortable. The hotel is easy to access in the area. My only two minor critiques include a request to return to a "free" breakfast, even continental, and add another computer to the lobby as there was only one available for all the guests.
