We happened upon this hotel on our way down state, and let me just say that Galesburg will now be a part of my summer route when heading to see my family!
This hotel was GREAT! The staff was super friendly and helpful!! Check in was smooth, we were asked if she could recommend a place to eat, and she told us about this fantastic bbq place, I dont remember the name of this place, but you cant miss the GIANT pig statue out front, the food was awsome!! The indoor pool at the hotel was nice, so was the hot tub. We had some issue's with the keys working, but that would be my ONLY complaint. The bed was comfy, the staff was FANTASTIC and the breakfast was out of this world! Galesburg is cool little town not far from home that I will visit often!

We stay at a lot of Holiday Inn hotels, and this one was only OK, not great. Front desk staff was less than friendly. Not exactly rude, but not the friendliest either. Breakfast worker was outstanding - really worked hard to ensure everything was well stocked. Really tiny whirlpool. Apparently they are using stock photos; the rooms were less updated than I expected. Our TV was not a flat screen as the photos show. I've been in much nicer, updated Holiday Inn Express rooms at other locations, for cheaper rates than this. Thought $104 was a bit pricey for their location and their rooms. Next time I'd probably stay elsewhere.

I stayed at this hotel this past weekend for my cousins wedding. Being in the wedding party I got there early and thought that it was a decent hotel, on the lower end of Holiday Inn Express. We stayed 2 nights and found out that the hotel would not check others there for the wedding in early and when there was a line of 15+ people hoping to check in before the wedding started they TOOK A BREAK!!!!! People couldn't get changed in time for the wedding and were left standing there 15 mins while everyone stepped outside to smoke.
The hot tub in the pool area had a garden hose in it constantly overfilling it making it seem like the last place my wife and I wanted to relax in after the wedding. The breakfast staff was cranky and clearly thought anyone asking questions was a moron.
The best thing is the location, I wouldn't stay here unless you are guaranteed to never interact with the hotel staff or they all get fired.

We stayed for one night, and the hotel was fine - clean and comfortable. It was quiet, which was a concern since it sits so close to the interstate. However, no issues for us.
The breakfast is always appreciated as well.

This is a typical HI Express, which is perfectly acceptable. It is what it is, which is what you expect, right?
