Stayed here recently over the Thanksgiving Holiday. I would not consider it an outstanding hotel but it was decent for the price. I would consider staying here again when visiting family in the area.

The included breakfast had plenty of items - and they were constantly refilling it. My son slept in and he was still able to find something to eat at 9:30. There were enough choices that most people should be able to find something to eat. It might not be the greatest ever but it meets the need. It was what I expected for the type of hotel.

My only complaint about our room was due to the heating. It was really cold in the room when we arrived so the first thing we did was turn the heat on. But then the heat would never turn back off - no matter what temperature we set it on. We finally just had to turn it off and then it would get cold in the middle of the night.

The staff was very friendly. Every one we walked by would greet us and ask how we were doing.

I have stayed in this hotel several times as I visit relatives in the area. I have always been impressed with the personnel. Everyone from the manager, Eric, to the front desk people, the maid staff and the people who set out breakfast. All do their jobs efficiently and with a smile on their face.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Although I would prefer to not have to use the top blanket as a cover.

There are signs the hotel is in need of updating. It starts with the sign on the building when you pull up. The paint is peeling badly. In my room, the window curtain was torn in several areas, letting in light. The TV is old, not a flat screen and actually stopped working the last night I was there.

Most of what I saw is easily fixed. As long as these items are fixed and the hotel does not continue to slide, I would recommend this hotel just based on the people. They make you feel welcomed.

My daughter went to Knox College and this was always my place of choice in Galesburg. It is located near the highways so there is easy access. It was always clean. My daughter and her friends loved coming to hang in the pool. The morning breakfast is an added bonus. It is a popular hotel so I always book early. I think I booked graduation weekend a year in advance.

Stayed here on a Saturday night. Rate was $134. Hard to recommend. Check in went fine. Room was hot when we entered. Turned on the AC but rooms are long and narrow. The bed near the AC freezes, the pullout couch by the entrance suffocates. There's a small fan between rooms to try to move the air but it didn't cut it. There is a ceiling fan above the couch which helped. Beds are pillowtop so comfortable. Bedding is one sheet and one very heavy comforter. Again, was too hot or too cold. Room was a bit dusty. Got woke up by a false fire alarm at 3am. 2nd time that week according to a worker I heard talking the next day. No offer of a discount when we checked out. The whole point of staying someplace is to attempt to get a good nights rest, right? We should have been offered a discounted rate. The pool area was nice. Kids had it all to themselves and was comfortable temperature. Breakfast had the usual cereal, pastries and waffles. Also had eggs and sausage plus biscuits and gravy. Pretty good actually. Was a Sunday morning so don't know if that is the norm or not. If they would clean a bit better and fix the fire alarm, I would up them one rating.
