On our honeymoon my wife and I found this hotel to be average in regards to the price we were charged. With a 20% discount we paid $119/night for a 2 night stay in a hot tub suite, by far the most I have ever paid for a hotel room but I really wanted the hot tub/suite experience. We enjoyed the breakfast as everything was very fresh and was a bit more extensive than the average continental breakfast. The extra large pool was also amazing even though it looked like it had not been really cleaned well in a while since the bottom of the pool was greenish. The room was nice and clean but the TV systems could use some serious updating as the remotes barely worked and we had to unplug the tv to get it to turn off. As for the more serious downside the water was very rusty due to a high mineral content. It left a solid ring around the hot tub and was slightly disturbing when bathing in brown water. I was originally planning on passing on my tips directly to hotel staff, but I decided not to do so unless the staff asked how our stay was. Upon checkout I was surprised that I was never asked this question as I have always been asked this at any other hotel that I have stayed in. Overall I'd say this hotel is nice, but for the rates that are being charged they should fix a few of these issues. With the water issue we had to make an unplanned trip to the local Walmart and stock up on bottled water for our stay since drinking the colored water was rather unpleasant due to it's metallic taste.

This Ramada is awesome! It was a perfect romantic get-away! The whole holtel was in pristine shape! Breakfast was delicious and not crowded! I just want to know if the front desk ordered the soft snowfall on Friday night! It was like being in a holiday post card! Thank you Galena Ramada!

The Ramada, Galena, was perfect for the "girls" weekend that we had planned. The hotel was very clean, and emulated the Galena "old fashioned" charm. Yes, it is decorated in a victorian fashion of a yesteryear instead of the sleek, updated contemporary or classic look that most hotels are changing to. This is however, because of the Galena area. A contemporary hotel would be very out of place here. Galena's attraction is the preservation of it's early history. The buildings are restored beautifully to their original states, and the ambiance that the town creates is wonderful. The Ramada tries to continue the feel of the town in their decor. The rooms are simple, but they are spacious and they are clean. I definitely recommend the spa! This is what attracted us to the hotel in the first place. (we also weren't up for the whole bed and breakfast environment since we were having a ladies weekend.) The spa offered nice packages for the hotel guests that you should definitely take advantage of. Compared to some of the other hotels in the area, the price was very inexpensive. For the amount of time that we actually spent in the room, this hotel suited us perfectly. The morning breakfast included in the rate was very adequate to get the day started. French toast, waffles, and the other basic continental fare. Staff was very friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions and other things that we needed. Beds were queen sized, not just doubles. Pool area is HUGE! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again upon returning to Galena!

my husband and I spent the weekend at this hotel the room was very nice we had a jacuzzi and fire place just what we were looking for very romantic and relaxing.very one was very nice cant wait to go again
